You're welcome, guys! Glad it's enjoyed. I have a few more bits from news magazines that I can put up (one favorite was the lead story and front cover of Newsweek) .... but I'm trying to figure out a way to make these more legible for folks to read.... The scans came out fine for my computer, but once posted to photobucket, on looking at this post, didn't realize how unreadable the articles are- will see if I can do something else to fix it tonight. (edit: too busy on last minute deadlines- sorry, will hopefully try again in the next couple of days)

does anyone think that in 30 years, people will care about newspaper articles about SR release?

For a while, I had a newspaper clipping from TPM, saying how the visuals were great, but the plot was a confusing mess. I'll always remember that one.

Thanks guys! Sorry I haven't been able to get back to put up more clips - been busy (I have some news magazine clips that are pretty cool from Time and Newsweek in color)- but seeing the response, (I really wasn't sure anyone would enjoy these)- will be happy to put up more & try to figure out how to make them bigger on photobucket in the next few days-
I might be able to find the SII photoalbum, too (though not as many clips)... but some interesting bits if I remember about Donner's firing....

Finally found the SII scrapbook-- Dunno how easy it is to read, but interesting bit about how the Salkinds sued Reeve for leaving the production before the end of STM's shoot.... and Reeve's agent countersuing, saying that the contract stipulated that STM/SII had to be shot all at once, not split... (which then led to the renegotiation later on with all the main actors) Also of note on the clips is Newsweek's bit about how Donner's perfectionism gave a special charm to the first one that wasn't there for the second overall...

That's a pretty bad photo.

Weird, isn't it? It's pre-photoshop, so I'm not sure how Reeve's lips got botoxed in that pic....

That's cool to see that Reeve fought for quality when Lester came on board.

I have to say that I'm curious about that draft Reeve was talking about that he wanted rewritten first before returning (if the 'Grapevine' article I scanned was true).... I bought the Mank one (no ending on it, it's the same one on the net) and the Lester one from a convention decades ago, but the two main differences that I remember about the Lester one--- #1: That there aren't all those sight gags in Metropolis in the script #2: There is no memory kiss. Supes uses his heat vision on a glass of water that he gives to Lois to drink. Memory kiss apparently suggested by Reeve. Other than that, it's pretty close to the theatrical.

I like that review of Supes II by Margaret Ronan:
"Imprisoned in the Phantom Zone for their crimes, General Zod, Ursa, and the giant Ron have been soaring through space..."
Let's review those Krptonian names:
Jor-El Kal-El Zod Ursa
and of course
Ron
