I'm wondering what might be worth checking out.
To be honest, I still haven't even watched the Daredevil series, which I understand is quite good, so i do plan to see that.
A few months (or maybe a year ago), I watched the first 4 or 5 "Arrow" episodes and really enjoyed it but haven't followed up on it. I still haven't seen The Flash either.
While the current DC regime is an unproven commodity on the big screen, (barring the Nolan Bat films), they seem to be making all the right movies on the small screen.
The opposite seems true for Marvel.
Whereas Marvel has been killing it at the movies, I'm not as convinced with their TV shows. I saw the first 7 or 8 episodes of "Agents of SHIELD" and found it a chore to get through, mainly because I thought the bulk of the acting in those first few episodes were...pretty bad. I tried like crazy to approach it with a forgiving attitude, and did enjoy some of those first 8 episodes, but I just lost interest after that.
Has it improved at all?
And what about "Agent Carter"? Is that any good?
Are there any other superhero shows out there that I didn't mention?

The fan boy wars on the net are pretty funny. There is room for DC and Marvel. When I see some idiots here criticizing DC for being 'late' or such stuff - it really makes me laugh... DC will make 3 trillion $ instead of 3 trillion and 1 $. Even the fans are winning - every super-hero is getting their 15 minutes of glory. If it's not their show or their movie - they guest star at some point. There has been more characters brought to life in the last 10 years than in the first 100 years of the celluloid. About Superman... Everyone is criticizing...something different. How can DC-Warner make an informative judgement based on erratic comments? It's like there's an internet review board and if the producers don't do as they say - they get viral negativity. Back in the days - movies were made and we would learn a month in advance by specialized books and 2 weeks in advanced by tv spots that they were coming out - period.

I agree that there's plenty of room for both DC and Marvel--
But I think that with all the info now available on the net and at conventions and on commentaries/etc. (when I grew up, the main source of info in America on bts stuff for the general public was "Premiere" magazine and the like)--- Many fans know how precarious the business of making films are, how trends affect the studios' mindset, etc. etc. etc.---
Hence- the worry that a giant string of mediocre or bad adaptations might sink the whole boat.... especially given how expensive these films are.
WB used to be on the side of 'let's not risk anything and play it safe by keeping the ideas in development heck' with superhero properties---
But with Marvel making the most of so many of their properties commercially--- it's hard not to feel that this WAS a giant factor in getting WB to get off the slow train and onto the superfast track in all departments.
Once upon a time, it used to be I'd worship ANYTHING that remotely bent its head towards a live action superhero tv or film project, as it was that rare.
Now, it feels so odd to be in a time where I'm ignoring some of them, because there are so many around.
That being the case, and with the sense that the door for superhero properties will explode and shrink soon, I can't blame fans for feeling like the chance for 'their' character to have a defninitive adaptation is ending soon--- and so, many are getting extra picky on creative choices made.
For my two cents, in looking back, there are a good number of highly entertaining and faithful Marvel superhero films that have now been created- some more memorable and deeper than others, and some not even made by Marvel Studios.
After Phase 3, though, one wonders if there is a Phase 4 even on the alates, or if Kevin Feige anticipates that the hunger might slow down by then.
In any case, here's hoping that there are a few classics that come our way in the slew of superhero items headed our way, not just good entertainments.
And it's nice to see that STM still gets worship as a classic groundbreaker, not just something part of a pack.

It's not so hard to ignore them as you say. There is Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, Shield, Carter, Daredevil and I forget some + a lot of movies per year. There are 25 hours per day - or 24 on Earth. If u want to work, foc, socialize and sleep - you can't watch everything.

I actually didn't intend for this to be a DC vs. Marvel topic.
I'm more interested in what the current superhero shows are and what the opinions are for them.
For example:
1) Has Agents of SHIELD improved? To recap, I only saw the first 7 or 8 episodes and kinda lost interest due to the horrible acting in the supporting cast. But has it improved or is it the same kinda thing?
2) What about Agent Carter? Any good?
3) Flash? Daredevil?
Is Supergirl already on TV or is it still in development? Did I forget any superhero shows?

Daredevil is beyond expactations. Flash is very cliché. It only lives because of it's fx. Supergirl's pilot can be torrented.

Did I forget any superhero shows? 1- I only viewed SHIELD as a binge watch with the first dvd- and it helped a lot.... though it would have been far better as a six episode miniseries, imo. Half of the friends I speak to who still follow it say it's tremendous now, the other half say it's worse. Nobody says it's a fast moving show, though. 2- Hear great things about Carter. 3- Also great things about FLASH. DAREDEVIL is a new gold standard for Marvel adaptations.... but it also had great source material. Hoping that IRON FIST is just as good on Netflix... 4- Teen Titans pilot is due out soon. Supergirl had a trailer that looked identical to the Black Widow parody. It looks god-awful to me, but young girls seem to like the trailer. Apparently Supergirl is on CBS intentionally because it has a higher budget for FX than the CW, according to the show developer. But, I dunno about the actress playing her. She's no Helen Slater on first appearance. Gotham I hear good things about, but hard to find too much interest in. On a sidebar, read the "Wayne" script and it was pretty good- it seemed like a much stronger show than "Smallville" turned out to be.
