Not impossible- given how many things seem on WB/DC's slate. MOS was 'good' box office for WB, but apparently not spectacular. I'm guessing Superman for now will be just a supporting player in the other DC movies?
Personally- I thought enough got flubbed on MOS that I'm ok with Superman being a team player for JLA/whatnot rather than being the focal point now, as this Superman is an "ELseworlds" Superman to me imo.
Still.... it's not impossible that a great MOS 2 could make its predecessor better- much how Singer's DOFP made X3 look better in an odd way by including some of its elements and 'fixing' what was broken in some ways...

I was gonna post the same thing CAM. www.darkhorizons.com/news/38556/-man-of-steel-2-on-permanent-holdThat's says a lot to me really. If MOS was the success that a lot of folks claim on all levels WB would be rushing to get another one done. Looks like their refocusing their attention on Batman. Maybe WB never had much interest in making another superman movie. Remember the rumors that the only reason MOS got made was because of rights issues with the Siegels during that legal battle.

With all the wasted time and money on different iterations of a Superman movie, can't say that I 100% blame them. (After seeing the documentary, would be less suprised if the wasted expenses got put on SR's budget report) I have a hunch that they just feel that Batman is more of a 'sure thing' with how the Nolan films did at the box office - and potentially cheaper- than doing more Superman movies. Would have been interesting to see how it all might have played out differently if Nolan directed..... or if it would not have made a difference at the box office at all.
