I dont think the documentary is better than the awesome movie itself, but, it certainly helps round out the experience & makes me love the movie even more.

I think it sould say "REIGN OF THE SUPERMEN" at the bottom.
Sebastian, It looks amazing!
You are the greatest digital artist on the net.
If I may make one suggestion. Brandon's suit needs the pattern on the blue. It sets his suit apart & makes it alien looking & special.
Im glad you left Tom Welling out. Good work.

the look works. Routh's doesn't. Aside from the darkness of the Red & thickness of the bottom of the boots, Routh's costume works beautifully for me. I love everything about the design.

wow. i am always delighted when someone so young actually looks back and appreciates something from before thier time. that is class. I know right? I must admit that when I first met her, it was one of the things that intrigued me about her. Here was a Hot girl who watched I Love Lucy, instead of "Sex in The City" (How to be a whore in an urban setting & still feel good about yourself) or "Desperate Housewives" (How to be a whore in a suburban setting & still feel good about yourself). Shes got everything Lucy that you can buy on DVD & countless collectibles & books. Me being a rabid collector of several different things, I couldnt resist a hottie that actually has a passion that isnt drug related. Shes the biggest mystery Ive ever met in my life. A hot girl, who has a brain, good taste in music & movies, but who isnt a spoiled, vain, drugged up bitch. I'm the luckiest dumbass I know.

For me, it is second only to the LOTR Extended Trilogy documentaries.
How ANYONE could not fall in love with Routh after watching him in this INCREDIBLE documentary, is beyond me.

I finally got around to checking out this cut. First off, forgive me if I'm saying things that have already been said, as I haven't had the chance to read any of the previous reviews. Jimbos Fan Cut of Superman IV is quite simply THE most essential Superman fan cut ever made. Simply put, whenever you feel the need to force yourself to watch the awfulness that is SIV, you should at least do yourself the favor of watching the only coherent version in existence. Up front let me say that SIV is a terrible, terrible movie, & even after this cut, its still terrible. But, that said, its MUCH ,more watchable this way. The editing of this cut is, in a word, Flawless. All cuts, are smooth & without a hint of jarring. The deleted scenes, while for the most part even worse than what did make the theatrical cut, still round the story out in a way that at least make the story feel complete. I have only seen the deleted scenes one time, so, it all seemed really fresh to me. I had forgotten abut most of them. I REALLY love the added scenes of Lex in court for war crimes & his subsequent release. These are arguably Hackman's best scenes in the movie. How a studio could pay the high price that comes along with Hackman & then leave his best work on the cutting room floor, is beyond me. The nightmare sequence that Jimbo constructed from thin air, is down right fracking AWESOME. It fascinating to see the Metro club scene cut together with music using the comic book pages. Its remarkable just how well that works. Jimbo really pulled an ace with that bit. I am still amazed at the job Jimbo did replacing that stupid temp music in the NM1 street battle scenes. Simply put, marvelous. Its also VERY helpful seeing all the deleted scenes that lead up to the Street Battle showdown between Supes & NM2. It actually makes sense now. But lets not kid ourselves. The real star here is the way that Jimbo showcased the incredible complete score to Superman IV. This cut is a much deserved love letter to the Late, Great Alexander Courage. I wish he were alive to see this. The music here in its uncut, & unperverted glory, finally gets to breathe the way it was intended to. Theres so much here to love, from a movie that has so much to hate. & THAT is the greatest compliment I can give this cut. It will be traded among fans at conventions for generations to come. It is THE most important Superman movie fan cut ever made. PERIOD. Well done laddie, well done.

Gag Order = Singer is still attached. Thats nothing certain. There are gag orders placed on people who are let go from projects all the time. Say an actor is let got from a project for whatever reason, but the still give him some pay, well, sometimes a condition of that pay is that the actor cant talk about the movie or the circumstances of his dismissal. The gag order can also work both ways so that no one can slam the fired actor. I betcha there was one heck of a gag order on the Tim Burton/Nic Cage Superman drama.

I hate to sound like such a bastard, but who cares what Matt Reeve thinks about how the Superman franchise is going? Seriously? Who cares? His dad played Superman. Matt's got NOTHING to do with anything at all regarding Superman. God, I hate unspurred anti-SR sentiment. Once again Kev, you have spoken for me. Couldnt have said it all better myself.

crazy asian, thanks SO much for reading my review & taking the time to comment. Glad folks liked the review. While I always respect your opinion, I have to say that I'm in complete disagreement about the delivery of the Father Becomes The Son line.
I get chills on my arms & tears in my eyes every single time I hear Superman deliver that line. He sounds choked up, reverent, & also in shock that the thing that he left earth for 5 years to find, was right here on our planet, growing inside the woman he loves, the one who makes him feel not so alone.
I don't think it could have been any better.
I adore his delivery.
But, hey, we can agree to disagree.

They should release Superman the Movie in 2008- Re-Release that is, for the 30th anniversary. It's still the 'GodFather' of all superhero movies... Agreed.
