Russo's would be up there for me. Waititi would be bottom of the pack based on Ragnarok.

Likeness could use a redo on this one. Doesn’t look much like Reeve to me. Pretty telling that the none traced parts of the image are the weakest element. Also, is that David Bowie as Bizarro?

Still available near me. Cheapest I've seen was $140. I can pick you one up if you want. I just bought the tin and flight stand separate, not interest in the figure itself. Still looking for the console loose buy not seen one cheap enough yet. Thanks Booshman, but I'm fine just with the one after all- The main thing I initiallly got it for was the awesome console- but even then... I was hoping it was 1/6 to fit with the Hot Toys Reeve version and didn't pay attention to the scale listed- but the tin was nice consolation in a way. Ok no worries, yeah I'm after the console to go with the smaller NECA figure, which I think looks superior to this one.

I think the new statue looks off. It's better than their last effort but still a way off. It looks like a caricature rather than a realistic portrait. I see they ditched the sewn in S after all the QC issues they had last time. I still think the portrait on the Neca is very good, not perfect but it looks more like a human than this one. It just lacks the paint apps out of the box. Hot toys is great but they've improved further since it was made, if they did a 2.0 they could pull off something amazing.

Everyone here aleady knows of the great site & podcast, yes? For new visitors: www.capedwonder.com//Current episode threw me for a loop: Fantastic that Jim & Jay got Thau, but... I was kind of hoping for even more detail from Michael Thau or hoping that he would have gone into some of the sequences that felt off... but he still seems pretty happy (enough) with what he finished. Definitely worth a listen (as all of the episodes are)- But some key points: #1: shock on the vudu version NOT being an earlier cut.... if it's 'someone wild at WB'- it's a pity that they didn't go further and re-install the other deleted scenes! #2: that most of the behind the scenes footage according to Thau was all used in one fashion or another - that the 'good stuff' had been used. (I still want to see EVERYTHING though) #3: no commentary on the fan cuts by Thau... but it's possible he never saw them or had interest to. Cool that they got him, but wish that he had said that there were mistakes made & that a newer cut was possible.... This was an interesting listen. Good to get clarification on some stuff and a few new tid bits. It's very frustrating to not be the one asking the questions though, so many things I'd have like to hear his take on or press him for more detail. We know from the TV cut that there are better takes available for scenes he re-edited, like Lex in the fotress. A bunch of Hackman's stuff sounds like a run through with bad line readings and incorrect word order in his delivery. That being the case, were the best takes used int he final version of the Donner Cut? Was Clark's talk with Jor-El really the best takes they had from that part of the shoot, some of it is pretty stiff. Sad to hear they would have had more time to refine the effects but didn't.

Just watched it and I enjoyed it more than I would have expected. It was nice to get a bunch of stuff we've covered in other series out the way right off the bat. I liked the old Action Comics reference and if that had been the new suit I'd be happy. The new inflated look is a bit ridiculous and I can't help but keep imagining how hideous Superman would look shirtless if what we see in the suit is representative of his actual anatomy. Lots of Superman Movie references. Dr Donner on the white board behind Clark in the beginning, a mention of Doc Fry in Smallville, the lake freeze. Lots of similar looking shots and angles too, the Superman Returns kryptonite continent lift came to mind during the lifting of the ice block, Superman flying low over the water, some MOS looking stuff too. I also thought that the evil captain guy sounded like one of his first lines of dialogue was read by Brandon Routh, I could be wrong but the voice kept on changing and one line stood out as sounding like him.
I stopped watching all of the CW shows a long time ago as they all got pretty terrible and I decided it wasn't worth the time each week to keep up to date with them. I came back for Crisis and that was pretty disappointing. This felt like a step in a much better direction and I'll keep watching to see where it goes. Hopefully it doesn't have a rapid decline like Arrow and Flash. And would it hurt to have a slow landing or take-off? Too many digital doubles zipping in and out of frame. I get it in a fight situation, but he really doesn't need to slam into the ground at Super speed or fly away at mach 5 when he's just stopping to chat.

The "look good" formula has failed with Cavill and Routh(and I personally ,would extend that to Welling and Hoechlin in the TV world too....but maybe I am being harsh). None of them are particularly great actors at all I would agree. I want a hard reset at this point. Superman, just Superman no shared DC universe, in a miniseries aimed at adults, but not something kids can't watch. An older Superman with a present day problem to solve serving as the framework, while reflecting back on his origins and battles of yesteryear would be great. We could cover his whole life but not in chronological order and briefly touch upon elements that have been done to death while mostly covering new ground.

The 134-minute edit of Superman IV: The Quest For Peace has been found. This is huge! No more speculation, it exists and they have it. Screw the Snyder Cut I want the Furie Cut!

It's disheartening to hear it's misplaced but I'm glad to know the reason it's not out already isn't that they have no interest in doing so or it's destroyed. Hopefully it shows up sooner rather than later.

Looks like the SR suit with the texture of the amazing Spider-Man suit. I like it better than the last one but it doesn't wow me either. Hopefully a regular photo is out soon to have a proper look.

Not too fussed on the Selutron news as I assumed that ship had sailed a while back but I really hoped the RIC was coming to bluray after Superman 1 came out of nowhere and apparently did well. I need that footage WB, come on!

In that promo pic you could fit your fist down the front of Superman's top.

Doomsday finale was disappointing. The big battle didn’t come. Huge build up, but the battle was over fast. So far, the only disappointing season finale. I haven't been back to watch the later seasons since they were originally on, so a lot of the details I forget, but man that was a disappointing finale. Such build up to nothing. I'd be prepared for more of that going forward.

I hear you CAM. This is the sort of project I'd hate had it been a studio release, but I can not help admire as a fan project. I know this will never replace the official version so I am very keen to see it as an alternative "what if" and enjoy it for what it is. Had this been a backdoor replacement for the original it would be a different story completely. Luckily Superman isn't a George Lucas movie or likely would never have even gotten the Theatrical cut to bluray. Is there one movie of his he hasn't messed with after the fact? Kathryn posted over at OT.org with release info on and details on how to get the project from her. originaltrilogy.com/topic/Superman-The-Movie-The-Final-Cut/id/76503/page/1#1357251

Hey all, first time really making much of a post here in a very long time but I thought this might be an appropriate thing to come back with. So far I haven’t looked on the threads to see if anybody has posted about this yet, but there’s somebody independently making a remastered cut of the original superman movie with some new effects and it is going to be released on the 23rd. Completely done as a non-profit passion project. I’m attaching link to her version of the North Pole scene youtu.be/dv5dhXCObGoReading the username I thought, "It can't actually be Maverick", but it is you. Jesus it's been a while since you were on. Whatever happened to all the original crew? Did you all bugger off to facebook like I've read in a few posts? Alex, Chance, Kevin, loads of members just gone. This place doesn't even look to be modded anymore, who's keeping the light on? With regard to your post, I've followed the project for a bit, should be an interesting alternate version. Of all the effects the thing I was most impressed with was she fixed the S on the flipped shot of the Airforce One rescue. The movie is fine as it is for my taste but I have the highest respect for anyone doing a big project for no money and actually getting the thing finished.

Cheers mate. I'm sure it would cost a fraction of that to do, look at what can be done with the available footage as is, access to the full footage would make a lot of things so much easier.

I made them. They are full papers with pages filled with original promtional ads for the movie. All printed on recycled paper so it looks like real newspaper. I'd be happy to send you the files to print your own if you want.
