Allison Mack as Powergirl Makes sense, but I was hoping she'd be Lois Lane. LeVar Burton as Black Lightning Trek connection FTW! I would think he'd offended by the name though, he's apparently sensitive about such things. Not that "Black Lightning" is offensive in and of itself, but you know what I mean. Ricardo Chavira as Major Force Never heard of him.

Superman: Doomsday Tops the Comic-to-DVD MarketThe explosion in comic book-related films in the last few years isn't confined to the big screen, or to live action. Both of the "big two" comic book publishers, DC Comics and Marvel Comics, have released a number of high-quality direct-to-DVD animated features based upon their characters. While Marvel Comics may be the king of the comic book rack, DC Comics is the champion in comic book-related animated DVD sales, according to The-Numbers.com 1. Superman: Doomsday - 9.4 million 2. Batman: Gotham Knight - 8.0 million 3. Ultimate Avengers 2 - 7.8 million 4. Ultimate Avengers - 6.7 million 5. Hulk Vs. - 5.4 million 6. Invincible Iron Man - 5.2 million 7. Justice League: The New Frontier - 5.2 million 8. Dr. Strange - 3.9 million 9. Wonder Woman - 3.4 million 10. Next Avengers - 2.9 million www.reelzchannel.com/movie-news/3520/superman-doomsday-tops-the-comic-to-dvd-market

Good to see Superman beating Batman in something.
It proves Superman has the capability of raking in some dough. If only WB could come to their senses.

1. Superman: Doomsday - 9.4 million HATED THIS.
2. Batman: Gotham Knight - 8.0 million AWFUL.
3. Ultimate Avengers 2 - 7.8 million TERRIBLE.
4. Ultimate Avengers - 6.7 million NOT TERRIBLE, BUT NOT GOOD
5. Hulk Vs. - 5.4 million HALF GOOD (The Thor segment was cool)
6. Invincible Iron Man - 5.2 million UNWATCHABLE
7. Justice League: The New Frontier - 5.2 million BETTER THAN MOST THEATRICAL SUPERHERO FILMS
8. Dr. Strange - 3.9 million DIDN'T BOTHER BECAUSE IRON MAN WAS SO LOUSY
9. Wonder Woman - 3.4 million HAVEN'T SEEN YET, BUT I HEAR GOOD THINGS
10. Next Avengers - 2.9 million YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO SIT THROUGH THIS.

Yeah, where are all of those millions and millions of Bat fans? You know, I agree with you that part of the big success of TDK was thanks to Ledger's death; it gave the movie A LOT more press. Free press. A lot of people --who normally wouldn't care about a movie of this type-- wanted to see it because it was his last movie, and he was playing none other than the Joker. Sure, I agree that the movie is good, very good, but it's very overrated, IMO.

Doomsday was bad. Not Brainiac Attacks bad, but bad. I'll never watch it again.
Can't WAIT for this and the GL one!
I've been getting a hankering to watch Superman: The Animated Series. I suppose I'll wait a few months.

A proper live action death of superman film would have made TONS of cash. A trilogy based on the death and returns storyline would have been HUGE!

They've done a nice job in the comics lately of reconciling a lot of pre and post-Byrne stuff.
However, anyone who spells his name Jor-L is gonna be a big Earth 2 fan, no?
This is going to rule.

This is going to rule. yep. and alan scott is my fave green lantern TOO! as an aside , i have mixed feelings about " superman doomsday " being on top of the heap. it was pretty good, very action packed to be sure- but thin on plot and entirelly dependant on what everyone going in KNEW what was going to happen- he dies , he comes back. the character design was only ok. the voice acting was ok. the " adult dialog " was actually juvenile. still, its good to see the man on top of the heap i geuss.

I thought Superman Doomsday was AWFUL. Just awful. The character designs were distracting. The story was really, really thin. And the dialogue was dreadful.
I will certainly never watch it again, and it's a damn shame that such a fun story got compressed into something so forgettable.

Did Dini/Timm have anything to do with Doomsday or Braniac Attacks? If so, they should be ASHAMED of themselves.
I have something awful to admit...I've never really seen any Justice League or JLU episodes.

You...you...
Haven't?
When you are here, we will change this. All of them. Better than B:TAS and S:TAS. Takes everything wonderful from those and builds on it.
Better than any Justice League comic I've ever read.

Yes...to Valentine you listen!
JL/JLU ties everything in the DCAU together and takes what should have been an impossible concept and turns it into something incredible. I had my doubts about it at first but it was really something special. When it transitioned to JLU and introduced dozens more characters I thought it had jumped the shark, but the best was yet to come!
The reason animated movies like Brainiac Attacks and Doomsday were so underwhelming is that JL/JLU had already covered similar stories in far better ways.

Yeah Kev go buy it! It's FANTASTIC! Newbern didn't quite sound right at the begining and Supes didn't look right either as they wanted to make him look a bit older but after season 1 they nailed his voice and look! Some class stuff! Michael Rosenbaun as The Flash was brilliant! Look it all! Have watched it through 3 times now!

I will certainly never watch it again, and it's a damn shame that such a fun story got compressed into something so forgettable. Maybe this is why, (according to some poster at SHH) "well I first saw the film at SDCC in '07 and they had a Q and A panel afterwards and someone did ask about the original storyline and all that....a big issue was the money, WB was still wary about these straight to video animated films and only giving them so much money to do them
and as for the films that have been released so far, some have sold very well but WB hasn't seen that one big seller that they want yet" Any way, I enjoy the movie. Think it's good, though it could have been better, but overall I like it.

You are supposed to say that 'this is what SR should have been --having cool superfights and a supervillain-- instead we got Superman against.... an island. ' You know, you really make very hard for me to dislike you.
