I've seen that sort of thing. It REALLY doesn't match. The differences in cinematography makes it clash.

Indeed, which is why it never works for SII either! which always makes me cringe in fanedits.

GAAAAAAAAH. Why do people treat campiness like it's some sort of flesh-eating bacteria? [Adam's kidding notwithstanding]

Some element of 'camp' is always needed in a superhero movie. ;D

I think that's been the studio's feeling for a long time. I'm glad that the current Batman movies are doing so well, that it helps to unravel that myth with them.

"What I absolutely hated about STM" Absolutely nothing! For me, it was the first truly epic superhero movie I remember seeing in its entirety and its the film that defined for me what a superhero epic should be. Even its flaws(spinning back the earth to turn back time illogic, Luthor and his cohorts being more comical than truly menacing) are part of what constitutes what STM the movie experience is for me and with all the times I've watched it, I wouldn't want the film be without them. A true film masterpiece and I can easily see what Sam Raimi, Christopher Nolan and even Bryan Singer used STM as their templates for their own superhero films.

Yeah , this is ultimately a needless thread. Superman The Movie was F'n Great with 'Theee Perfect Superman of all time-Reeve'. Is this simply a subject created in response for the Universal Disdain for SR?

Where does this hostility come from? Everyone who loves SR has respect for Reeve as Superman, even if the reverse isn't necessarily true. (Is there ONE post where someone who loves SR has looked down on Reeve?) Don't get it.

It's just a troll. They say things for the sole purpose of pissing people off. If the guy had anything meaningful to say, then he would have said it by now.

I don't see any real problems with Superman I. The 2001 Thau cut was not as good to be sure but theatrical Superman the movie was just about perfect.
I don't believe anything in Superman I was bad enough to justify the word hate.

i see.
There is a really neat site called nitpickers.com I'm sure Superman the movie has it's share of "flaws."
Even if a film has flaws, even a lot of them, it can still be perfect if the whole package overall is an A+

You know, kindergarten stuff.

One thing I don’t like in STM is the colour of the green crystal… why green?? Why the same colour as kryptonite? STM green crystal looks almost the same that SR kryptonite knife. It can be a little bit confusing. A blue, red or yellow crystal would have been better… I think.

Its actually quite confusing to the laypeople. I think it should have been Red. The color of Krypton's Sun. I was confused as to why Singer didn't use the green crystal. Go fig. ;D I've always suspected that he didn't use it because of the very reason I stated above.

Wow, you know what???
You guys just brought me back to a STM memory that I had completely forgotten about.
As a matter of fact, I remember being a kid and asking my dad if that green crystal was Kryptonite and feeling confused about it.
