It would cost WB a small fortune to do the blank bullet scene in CGI. Not only would they have to create Reeve and Kidder, but the actual Hotel Set for that scene would have to be created as well.

Reeve would have to have been an immaculate looking 55 year old man pumped with Cutting Edge anti-aging products & botox & superior Make up effects because Superman just isnt 55 years old. 65 year old Indiana Jones is acceptable but this is Superman we're talking about. Reeve looked aged in Superman IV and He was about 34 during the Filming. My idea is for a Fan cut -taking scenes from all Four Reeve films to make a Superman V, dont know how this would turn out but would be interesting.

Lot of actors have played there most famous roles into there fifties.
Rambo Rocky Balboa Terminator 3 Live Free or Die Hard Star Trek movies - original cast Indiana Jones James Bond - Connery - Moore
I would think a Christopher Reeve movie would have been possible.

Absolutely. I think the tricky thing would have been casting the supporting cast.... should the characters have aged along with Superman--- or recast? I know this topic has been in an older thread- If they ended up having a Superman 'solo' story without the supporting characters (maybe a story off-planet?)- then that question would be dodged. If there's also a story with the supporting characters, it might have been a little tricky to recast the rest of the actors.
With Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Katie Holmes dropped out (She isn't a bad actress- she just totally didn't fit in that universe), and Maggie Gylenhall fit better, but it still takes a bit of an adjustment and is undoubtedly a compromise (TDK might have had moments of flashbacks of Bruce and Rachel as children if there wasn't a recast- not a big loss, but it's not ideal that they didn't really have the option to tie them closer together)....
Anyhow- yeah, one more would have been nice...

Nah, I thought Katie Holmes was better than Maggie. Katie was out of place, but to give credit where credit is due, she embodied the goodie-two-shoes aspect of the character better than Maggie. She also has more screen presence and more chemistry with Bale, and she had terrific chemistry with Aaron Eckhart in "Thank You For Smoking". Katie is also nicer to look at and would've been more believable being a love interest for Bale and Eckhart. Maggie isn't very attractive and I find it hard to believe she was interesting to both Bale AND Eckhart, both of whom could do better than Maggie.
Anyway, I would've loved for Reeve to make a comeback. Too bad SIV was his swan song as Superman.

Taking the supporting cast issue into consideration, a "Dark Knight Returns" film would have really been the most appropriate comeback vehicle for Reeve. Imagine what an event that would have been in the mid-90s. With Michael Keaton as Batman of course. Oh what might have been...

It would have been great to have seen another Reeve in another Superman movie, i do have a Christopher Reeve interview on VHS which ive never seen anywhere before. I recorded it from "the big breakfast" in 1993, which he talks alot about his films and more importantly about Superman V which at the time he was in talks with producers about doing and he said hed told the producers hed only do it if it was the "best superman film of the lot" and had to be better than the first movie, i remember getting very excited at the time....sadly it never came to pass i will try to upload it very soon

Christopher, would be Great to see that if you can get it uploaded. So in Reality Superman V would have premiered around 1995. I'm trying to think what kind of Storyline Reeve had in mind for it. I guess would have been based on that script that I saw floating around here before.

Yes - Paula Yates asks him why he didn't go into politics since he had such a stoic look about him. Shamefully I've never read the Bates script - is it environmentally themed? I also remember Reeve saying in the interview "The script I've read isn't too bad" And that's what got me really excited at the time He'd obviously reconsidered everything and was willing to go with it all again as in the early nineties he'd get visibly crabby about the possiblity of a V. he clearly wanted to end the series on a high note... Get it uploaded!!!! Its a great interview....

Yeah he knew it was his last chance to do the movie right because i dont know if you remember in the interview he stated "superman is permanently 30" and he was 40 "and he said "instead of up up and away it will be up up up up and maybe away" lol I will upload asap

Thats right he did state that.
Perhaps he might have been in SR had the opportunity presented itself, maybe it could have been Reeve's face as JOR-EL in the fortress scenes (they could have achieved that even with Chris injuries - face only etc etc)
