So nobody here was aware of this?! Here's the official site for Madame Tussauds in NY; www.nidhin.com/madame-tussauds-new-york-city-nyc.htmlIf you scroll down, you'll see a photo of the wheelchair bound Reeve wax sculpture. I don't think Reeve would have been cool with this, either. It seems kinda morbid to me. What's next, a wax sculpture of cancer ridden Patrick Swayze?

But really what is the difference between making a wax sculpture as opposed to a drawing which presumably would not cause offense or concern?

Celebrity wax sculptures typically depict celebs in an idealized and iconic pose the way most people remember them. To depict Reeve in his wheelchair, which of course he always wanted to be rid of, and then allow people to kneel and pose beside while potentially even doing stupid things for the camera seems to give it a sideshow attraction vibe. One I seriously doubt Reeve would have given permission for. Add to that the fact that Reeve still has family and friends who remember him as more than a paralyzed guy in a wheelchair and it just seems in poor taste.
