I'm not certain, but I'm willing to bet good money it's the 2000 version.

It's not the 2000 version. The set contains the Salkind/Spengler commentary, so it has to be the 1978 version.
50/50 chance it has the original audio, I'd think. Original disc or reissue.
Edit: It's a two-disc set, so it has to be two flippers. 4 movies on 2 discs, with 2 sides to each disc. Since it's new, then it's more likely than not to have the original audio.

Don't forget stock won't have been changed from a lot of places concerning the 1978 audio fiasco. I bought mine a while after WB had promised to stock retailers with the new corrected 1978 audio but it turns out they didn't - or at least the one I bought mine from didn't.

I have the 4 film favorite set and yes it's a two disc set; one film on each side of both discs. Audio option 1 is the 2000 remix and audio option 2 is the original audio!!!

Thank You! I haven't heard the original mix in so long, Every time it's shown on television it's usually the remixed version.

Dude, once you heard the original STM soundmix on DVD you're never gonna wanna listen to that junk 20001 Thau remix again!
On a side note the Thau mix just plain doesn't work with the theatrical cut in one specific part; when Otis says "I think he's coming Mr. Luthor" because the sound effect of Superman drilling though the street is missing here (in the Thau cut this line was played AFTER Superman drilled through the street.

Grrrrr..... methinks that I'm gonna use a character called Lt. Dang in my next Superman Origins story about the SIV lesbian!!! But yeah, what I meant was that the Thau mix doesn't exactly fit the theatrical cut. Sloppy indeed.

I finally received this in the mail and it does indeed feature the original audio.
The sound effects in this mix sound so much more like they actually belong in this movie, as opposed to the in-your-face sounds of the Thau remix.
I bought this set to replace my bare bones editions of 2-4 since it includes alot of the features from the Chris Reeve boxed set, and It saves quite a bit of shelf space. I've been meaning to upgrade them for quite some time
I did keep my original S:TM disc for the extended cut & bonus features though.

Is it just a regular sized DVD case with a hinge for a second disc? Not bad for four movies. It'd be a heck of a lot smaller than the Christopher Reeve Superman set. I'm really surprised that it included the original version, and not the 2000 version. If only they'd give the same courtesy for Blu-ray.

Yep, just a regular sized DVD case with a hinge, it's only 2 discs. Yeah I thought I was totally cheaping out... but I ended up getting a sweet deal! I can listen to EITHER audio, sometimes it pays to wait!

I can listen to EITHER audio, sometimes it pays to wait! The 14-disc box set in 2006 had that option too, if you were willing to spend $70-100 for it.....and send off the incorrect DVD in the mail and wait for the new one....and have Superman Returns. ;D

LOL yeah I only paid 10 bucks... some Superman fan I am huh? But of course it means I've NEVER viewed the second disc from the SII deluxe set... I wanna see the making of SII!! So why do you also have to own SR to get the defective disc replaced? Didn't it already come with the 14 disc set?

I meant that you (you specifically) would have to own Superman Returns in order to get the box set, and I'm sure you wouldn't want that. ;D
The defective discs were only part of the 14-disc box set, the Reeve-only box set, and the 4-disc STM set.

I worked at Target when the 14 Disc set came out in '06. We only had one copy on the shelf and I didn't think to get it while I was on lunch break, and it was gone within minutes after I saw it. I've never actually seen another one in a store since then.
I just ended up getting the Richard Donner cut of SII & The Look, Up in the Sky Disc separately, Then I waited and got a used copy of what I believe is the Best Buy Exclusive edition of Superman Returns on Amazon for $0.01

Yeah... I really dodged a bullet there by getting just the Reeve four film set. My God, seriously if I had received the 14 disc set and saw SR bundled in there I prolly would thrown the whole thing out!!!!!!!!!

Then I waited and got a used copy of what I believe is the Best Buy Exclusive edition of Superman Returns on Amazon for $0.01 I sold Gran Turismo 3 to Gamestop for a penny. ;D I was unloading some old games, and I owned GT4, so I didn't care.

Then I waited and got a used copy of what I believe is the Best Buy Exclusive edition of Superman Returns on Amazon for $0.01 Paid too much. Dude, why didn't you just give the game away to some poor person? I hate Gamestop; they fucking take returned games and sell them as new! And they never give you a decent price for your old games... you're better off keeping them for nostalgia! I mean imagine returning Batman Begins to the store because you recently bought The Dark Knight??
