Eh, bad analogy. GT4 made GT3 irrelevant to me, so I really didn't care. Yeah, I probably should have kept it. A freaking penny! Heck, I got $40 for my NES from them. ;D
I've only ever done Craigslist since then.

How is it a bad analogy? Videogames are an experience and so are movies. Why trade an older one just because a sequel comes out?
I mean games and movies are becoming more and more alike i.e. Metal Gear Solid.
Besides many games are classics just as movies are classics.
But what did the Gamestop guy exactly say to you when you wanted to trade in the game?
Did he seriously offer a penny to you? Was he surprised when you actually took it?? ;D
I dunno you coulda melted the penny down I suppose, they aren't worth the material they're minted from!

Bad analogy because there is no story from game to game, and entries in the Gran Turismo series are inherently retreads and expansions of previous installments. It made the previous game obsolete. After all, it had pretty much the same cars and tracks. Did you keep using Windows 95 when XP came out?
Did Dark Knight make Batman Begins obsolete? No. So it was a bad analogy.
As for the Gamestop employee....he was a Gamestop employee. Those guys don't care about anything except pre-orders. ;D

But dude.... think about it ONE PENNY! You could have donated that game to a poor family whose malnourished child's only wish is to have a few moments of happiness playing a videogame!
But instead you gave it to the heartless Gamestop employees who will probably charge that family 7 bucks to buy that game so they'll have to go without dinner that night to afford it and so that ill child might DIE!
While you're lying back comfortably admiring your penny I hope you think about this poor family!

If that "poor family" decided to buy their son a $300 PS2 (at the time) instead of putting food on their table, then they deserve to go hungry.

What did you spend your penny on btw? I still think you should have given the game to the poor family who.... can't afford Christmas gifts for their miserable sickly child!!!! For shame!!!!!
