I don't understand. You acknowledge that, in many circles SR is not as revered as BB. You also show proof of that. But your conclusion is that a lot of people like SR?
But of course people are more 'open-minded' here...it's a site dedicated to Superman!
And look at your site you quote...it gives SR 4 stars but Batman Begins 5 stars!
Comicbook fans make a minority. They don't make or brake the BO.

Still, SR got a very good score, though, and their review is very positive overall.
Besides, other top critics gave SR a very high score, like Empire. Both SR and BB got 5 stars. And the reviewer's verdict of SR was this, which I happen to agree with,
Verdict-
"It’s all about heart — not that the spectacle falters; this is the finest popular entertainment since the Rings trilogy closed. Superman doesn’t fly — he soars."
Also, for the Empire Reader's Awards 2007, voted by the thousands of readers, Superman Returns was a runner up in some of the categories such as Best director, Best film, Best sci-fi/fantasy, and Brandon won Best Newcomer. Not bad, I think, especially when some people say that it's such a terrible film that people didn't care about,
