Dear all, i think if we will be able to see another, definitive version of the Donner's cut in the next few year, it will be thanks to Selutron unique vision and efforts, every hate on this forum against him, can just slow the warner decision, We are part of the same team guys! if warner will gift us another superman II version, the definitve , i hope with the right efforts, movie theatre standard and not dvd standard in mind, during the process of this project, and Selutron vision about the drama and the scale of this picture in his mind like the true part II of the masterpiece. we will must be just happy and my eyes will be full of tears... cause superman II donner's version deserve a better treatment and a self-contained saga in two part is a wonderful idea to celebrate Mr Reeve, Donner and every guy have workerd on this two movies. someone can't like Selutron work and vision, but there is a fact, this guy is the only one who try to understand every hole of this two movies and in full respect for tha materials he try to cover this gaps, think about his prologue for part II... he answer a great hole of the our masterpiece STM, in a genuine, fresh and astonish creative way! i'm not a selutron friend, and i have full respect for the other fan cutter, but his work have the right touch of this materials, this is just my thaught. when i see his clip i can feel the spirit and the colour of the movie i have loved for all the day of my life...STM. so dear friend still remain part of the same team if our goal is to see a new definitve version of PART II! to celebrate in the right way the dream makers which we are grown. Excellent idea. Do you think there could be the possibility of them actually creating, in CGI, villains rule the world scene, once and for all? Don't forget the key monuments though. They need to be destroyed for the vision to work correctly.

and don't forget villains destoying krypton! ;D Now that WOULD be monumental. The villains destroying Krypton would use too much CGI though and that would ruin the Supermens films. Do you not agree also?

He's gone silent, so there's nothing known publicly.

Has there been any mention with any of the chats with WB home video about Selutron vision?

I don't think we will ever know to be honest. If it has gone down the pan, it's unlikely he will tell us.

My guess is that since the Concorde scene involves footage from a non-WB (I think) movie, that's the reason that they've avoided putting it up on Capedwonder. What about the Villians in DC scene? I'm pretty sure that the extra footage came from other movies outside of the Warner Bros. Vault.

I really hope at least we find out Selutrons ending. Even if we never see the edit (and we probably won't) it'd be nice to see what he came up with. Can you let us in on it Gandalf?

Selutron wrote a Barack/Superman editorial on his site, so Gandy certainly keeps in touch with him.

Dear Gandalf...there is great hope in your few words, thanks! i think it's a good idea if you or Selutron sometimes put news about this project, and for news i mean...just... "It's not over" cause i think is very important keep the fans togetther in hope, and i think these can generate some kind of discussion about it... i think i very important keep the discussion about Selutron astonish work live! do you have seen the Adywan, fan edit on SW Ep IV? wow amazing, these kind of love by Adywan or Selutron must be honored every day...and the production company must have n board these kind of guys in their project and in the restore project on masterpiece. cause, i think restoring movies for the movie history is an important thing to do, producers must seen over their self and see the things in the long terms! movie history keeping restore masterpiece should be important like collect money for the producers! so please keep our hope high with Selutron Vision! thanks a lot

I really like Selutron's work, but it's hard to stay optimistic when we don't know what the heck is going on. So put it this way, if Selutron comes out and says something about WB considering his 'vision' then I won't be surprised. If he comes and says it all went shit faced then I won't be surprised. Bleh.

Selutron's STM recap which established an even greater link between the two films was pure genius. His work for the release of the villains was more in the style of STM, it portrayed more menace and built the hype.
I'd like to think he suspended showcasing his clips on youtube because something greater is on the horizon. I still have hope.

I just watched the theatrical cut of Superman II and was thoroughly satisfied with it. The lack of Brando, Lara added in, all of it. Oh, how times have changed.

I'll take the theatrical version over Thau's edit any day. But overall I prefer Ollie's ;D

I remember the first time I'd seen it- the theatrical cut is a good film, but I was just disappointed by the Phantom Zone Criminals reduced to comedy- and the Metropolis battle.
I still feel that if Thau had cut the Donner cut a little better, it would have blown away the theatrical. *sigh*...
