I think there is still a chance. If Selutron is doing this on his own time and a limited budget. Warners could do the same, and make lots of money if they do it right.

If I recall correctly, there was a lot of speculation on a past thread on this.
I'm curious, too... but am realistic on how limited the choices have to be. Bearing in mind the possibilities of rotoscopes and doubles, still... it's really limited.
Summarizing what was mentioned before;
Assuming it's NOT: (a) turning back time again - nor - (b) memory kiss, then:
#1: Lois is left on the balcony, allowed to remember it all. (No memory kiss nor turn back of time) #2: What else is available of any real significance?
It'd be nice to be happily suprised, but truth to tell, just more 'real' footage by Donner properly edited and officially released by WB would happily suprise me enough, too.

The question is what footage is there that can still be harvested to make an ending? Maybe the alley change an shirt rip... maybe that will be incorporated into his ending and/or some new voice over. I'm positive he'll end it with the comic book being closed though.

Verisimilitude did that with his cut. It's nice...but I don't know that that is considered a high selling point. Having the ending be with the start of hearing about the Effeil Tower, and then cutting off with the shirt rip in the alley is not bad, but....again... a giant selling point? I'm actually far more curious about the Metro battle that Selutron needs to upgrade. (I know, I'm very obsessed with that sequence).

I think that the turning the world back footage is flipped so that Superman turns the world forwards instead. He travels forward in time to 2006, faster than the speed of light, explaining why he looks younger in Superman Returns.

Did you guys ever think about SR this way.... what if Superman in SR is not the same Superman from STM and SII.
What if when Superman turned back time in STM he created Earth 2.0 which was set in the future and had a different looking Superman and Lois, a world in which Superman and Lois could concieve a child.... dunno

Come to think of it, I actually think that's what he has done by making an ending that ties into SR. Well, it seems like the only thing that makes sense to me over that damn revese back time or memory kiss ending.

Does anybody remember the talk of a "crystal-related" ending? As in, Supes left a crystal in Lois' apartment and it zaps her memory, like Men in Black. (And I think the crystals erase somebody's memory on Smallville about once a week.)
Hey, it can't be any lamer than turning the world back twice.

Well in the original Puzo script Clark uses his x-ray vision to poison Lois's drink which gives her just enough drain bramage to forget he is Superman!

It would be a shame to leave that iconic alley shirt rip scene out of any Superman 2 revisit.
If I had the tools, I always wanted to try speeding that whole scene up. After Supes changes in the alley and flys off - cut to the turn back time scene - in space when he does the first 'zoom' around the planet - then have the scene when he can see the Eiffel tower in the distance.
It'd be like he got there in 10 seconds, now that would be cool!

Maybe that would work. Someone once suggested using the alley shirt rip right before Clark returns for the diner rematch.
I would maybe try to work the Paris sequence before the DP jump scene. Is there a way to heavily re-edit the Paris sequence to NOT include Lois and just have Superman fly to Paris and throw the elavator into space?
Turn the whole thing into a quickie action scene in the style of the fox-hunt or something?

The pretty slow pace of the Effeil Tower sequence in the theatrical always makes me cringe- how can Supes be fast enough to spin around the world and turn back time in a minute or two, but it takes him forever to get from the U.S. to France?
I know sometimes taking a shortcut can end up taking longer at times, but...

I hope something like that will happen, even if it's not Selutron, that they look at his ideas and realise that a better Superman II is possible, even utilizing out-takes from Superman III or out-take flying shots from Superman the movie. Like he did.

I really want this to happen. What gets to me though is the absence of any news from selutron. I mean anything, even if theres nothing from the studios, just selutrons input, ideas, hopes, ANYTHING!! just to keep the interest going. And because of the lack there of, regarding the superman sequel, I've totally given up on the next superman movie.

Nothing will happen without a new Superman film.
And even then it will most probably be a rushed job that we will all find fault with.
I honestly believe the only way we will see this is if Selutron just goes ahead and edits it himself without WB auth.

We have a better chance of getting the theatrical versions of the Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray.

All I know is it never happened. That's about it.
Maybe Gandy shed some more light on the subject.

Heard about the same non-meeting..... just glad that Selutron threw up a lot of ideas and clips that gave me more ideas and stuff to put in... Don't know what his 'mystery ending' is, but given the lack of footage---- how incredible could it really be???
