Don't know if you guys would be interested... but, throwing it out- Moviegoods has done a full-size reprint of the 'original' teaser Superman II movie poster- pretty good price at $20.00! (They have 4 left). I had bought the 'original' (folded) years ago- but at a (too hefty) price... I see the 'real' ones go from $50 (very low end) to about $100-- if you can find them. Here's the link: cgi.ebay.com/Superman-2-1981-MOVIE-POSTER-27x40-Christopher-Reeve_W0QQitemZ110266868985QQihZ001QQcategoryZ60338QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247Personally, I prefered this design over the 'final' theatrical poster. There was another 'european' version (with a half-body profile of Supes descending down on Metropolis in flames, with three of the villains rising up from the city) that I thought was also a better design overall (I'm still a bit amazed that there seemed to be so FEW alternative designs for the posters, given the amount of alternative Star Wars posters that came out way back when.) So, anyhow, thought I'd share, if anyone was interested in getting a reprint cheap... Thread title only edited by MAVERICK

You're welcome, Mav! Now, if only Moviegoods would reprint the european alternate SII poster... A warning, though, on the poster- (I bought a reprint myself to display from Moviegoods for display)- The originals were all in folded condition (something sadly common when I did searches for the original)--- but rather than 'fix' the 'creases' in photoshop (or some other software), the creases of the original also show up in the reprint...but not very noticeable if hung on the wall. Also, weirdly, things are cheaper via ebay for Moviegoods than buying directly (I know, very odd- I asked a clerk at Moviegoods why it was, but it just is the way they're usually set up)...so, heads up on this. And...glad to hear that someone else loved the original teaser poster! (it rules, doesn't it?) I always thought the poster design gave the sense of 'dread' that I thought (and apparently Donner intended) for the villains to have in his version of II. Pity the poster still says directed by Lester, but o well... ;p

I've been searching the net and any comic book conventions for originals or reproductions of the superman movie posters and its just been an amazingly surprising and dissapointing experience.
I dont understand what has happend over the past 30 years, where have all these wonderful posters gone. Star wars posters are so easily avaliable and originals are easily found and in great condition yet there is no joy with superman posters.
I know there was the poster offer in the region 1 edition of the ultimate boxset and I was hoping that would boost avalibility but nothing happend, am I searching for the holy grail of posters here or are they around somewhere ?

A topic close to my heart. I've been on a similar quest and picked up my first original back in 2000. Since then I've picked up:
Superman The Movie original Superman II teaser Superman II original (Australian) Superman III original (Australian)
A few tips:
ebay is always your best bet - you can search through the web and locate original film poster resellers but you'll pay a hefty premuim.
Expand your search to include the words 'original one sheet' or 'original british quad'
For Superman posters, you should also search ebay with 'Christopher Reeve Poster' you'd be surprised what comes up. Often people sell original Superman posters without even mentioning the film title
The hardest one to find without doubt is the classic Superman The Movie 27 x 41 one sheet - not the one featuring Bob Peaks art, the one which has Chris flying up from Metropolis, also features a head shot of Brando and Hackman. You can often see this as an Australian Daybill but they are a lot smaller.
Good luck.

That's a fantastic collection Hosni, must be awesome to see them framed together. Your mention of the classic Superman the movie poster brought back so many memories and hopes to find it. The british tv stations like LWT often used that picture of Chris for the still card between the ad breaks when ever they showed the film and that just became my primary image of superman and its just a fantastic poster in general. An image they roughly captured in the IV poster. Thank you for the tips on searching, hopefully the ideal one will come up for auction sometime soon, and I hope you find the Superman the movie poster

Unfortunately they're not too rare, yes they're 30 years old but were mass produced as give aways. I'm not from the US but I'm pretty sure a soap company offered them in their packages around 78-79 - you had to fill out a form and send the company something in the post and they'd ship them out to you.
They're on flimsy paper right?
I had a few and sold them on ebay a few years back. Kinda wishing I'd kept more than one.

yeah the paper is pretty cheap. got them all for like $17 bucks though. ill keep 'em for now, but my prized superman posters are the green foil ones. do you know what they're called exactly? there's a word for the type of poster.

word of warning if you plan to frame a mylar poster, make sure it's not glued to a board.
I had one framed a few years back and just assumed it'd be fine to glue down to the backing board (as did the framer) - but the mylar material immediately warped upon coming into contact with the glue. Now ruined.
It was a common glue they all use - so best to keep it in mind...

Thats a good fan made poster. But I wouldn't spend $60 on it (buy it now price + shipping)
Nice to see Superman art being made by other people though.
Wouldn't that be copyright infringement though?

It doesn't look bad for the size shown in the auction, but I'll bet it looks pretty pixelated in person at a bigger size.
