Could you imagine?? Just booking tickets for the BFI Imax in London for Avatar and I was wondering how cool it would be to see STM in 3D!
I know the costs would be huge at present but maybe down the line in many many years to come, when the cost of transfering it would be much much lower!
With the age of current technology and obviously what's coming with bigger and better TV's, higher resolution etc, do you think it could happen.
Wishful thinking but to see my favourite movie in 3D would rule!

I know Lucas was supposed to re-release Star Wars again in 3D but I haven't heard anything on that in a while. So it COULD happen under the right circumstances. A sequel tie-in perhaps, but one would have thought with SR's connections to STM and SII if they ever were to be re-released theatrically it would have been then.
Scenes that come to mind that would look cool in 3D would be Zod and Co's banishment to the Phantom Zone, Jor-El's first appearance in the Fortress of Solitude, and Superman's flight up rage towards camera after Lois' death.

Well, if they can do it with Star Wars they can easily do it with STM. It just depends whether there is money to be made out of doing it. WB always needs to be heavily persuaded to do anything with the Superman movies.

Nope. Never gonna happen.
You folks seem to think people in this world love STM as much as we do and would go nuts about seeing it in 3D.
Unfortunately, not only do people NOT feel about STM as we do, but the most IMPORTANT people when it comes to such a thing, studio execs, also do not care about it.
STM is not Star Wars. Not even close. heck, most people don't even remember the movie, it seems, other than having seen it maybe once a long time ago. Christopher Reeve is loved and remembered. STM is not.
So...no. Never. But it sure would be awesome.

Right now I just settle for the theatrical cut of STM on blu ray.

Unless there's big money to be made out of it, it aint happening!

And the helicopter falling towards camera right before Supes catches it. NUTS
