well thats what they NEED to do ,
{ and i hope they do it when they have ( the inevitable ) re-release of SR in conjunction of the new superman movie }
is to radically adjust the color on the film and remove the filter to make it brighter . we can play with tv settings but we can't change whats ON the DISC!

What the heck? Why don't they just release all Superman movies on BluRay? Superman II, III and IV aren't on there yet. They need to do another ultimate box set. I'm sure it's in the cards, no?
I've only seen it on HD DVD but the BluRay will look the same, and that is GORGEOUS. Although someone brought up a good point that the playback on the PS3 is a lot better than HD DVD players, so...maybe I'll get it? I dunno. I just want a big ol' box set, dammit.

Ah, the HD scam. Let's re-buy ALL of our fave films because they're on Bluray, there's no stunning difference than SD but hey!
Sorry, it's all WAAAAAAAAAY overhyped.

After shecking out way too much on the Blu-Ray equipment you're going to say it's awesome just to justify buying it.
The fact is it's not THAT much better.
I'll wait till the next format - by then we should really be able to notice the difference.

Well, that's just the thing. You need a nice HD set up to fully enjoy Blu-ray. I had that already in place before I got my PS3, so I got to enjoy some pretty Blu-rays without too much additional cost.
But if you just have a regular TV, or even an HDTV 30 inches or less, there's really no reason to go Blu-ray. Once you start getting beyond 40 inches, the quality jump just really makes itself apparent.
Going from a DVD, encoded in 480/576i, all the way up to 1080p, biiiiiig difference.

Yeah, Darren, I hate to pull this sorta thing on you, you're my old buddy, but you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
If you put two TVs together, same make and model, one playing Casino Royale on DVD and the other playing Casino Royale on Bluray, and you DON'T see a gigantic difference, you're either in need of eye glasses, or you're a woman.
I've done testing. It's almost official. Most women can't tell the difference between HD and standard but that's because of one main reason: they don't care. Diamonds? Cars? Furniture? Get the best of the best, they can tell quality on those sorts of things. TVs? As long as it's in color, that's all they need and that's all they can perceive.
If you are married to or are in a relationship with a girl who can tell the difference between HD and SD, be proud of what you have because it ain't very common.

It depends on the TV, though. You get a Blu-ray set up and you have a 720p 32" HDTV and you really can't tell the difference. But, if you get a 46" 1080p, 120Hz HDTV and a Blu-ray set up then you have visual ecstasy.

Not necessarily true on a smaller TV. My last TV was a 30" 1080i HDTV. Blu-rays weren't that much better than the DVDs of the same movie. Now with my 46".....DEAR LORD, it's beautiful. Even comparing Superman Returns, which had a dreadful DVD, the Blu-ray was only marginally better on the smaller TV. I have a couple Blu-ray replacements of DVDs, Blade Runner, The Rock and Transformers, and believe me, the quality jump is QUITE obvious.

I don't have any at the moment. My buddy Darrell (Booyamoon) has a nice collection. He lives about three blocks from where I live, so I usually see Blu-ray stuff at his house. His set up is a lot better than mine. I'm getting a PS3 within the next month or two, and it will be awesome.
