I actually didn't know that stuff about the deleted scenes in SR. That would have totally made the movie better. It would have at least provided some measure of plausability to Luthor's behavior. I think Luthor came off really poorly in that film and these scenes would have helped immensely. It would almost take him into a much scarier direction where he was not even motivated by personal gain but simply by his own sick game against Superman. Instead, they made it look like Luthor somehow thought he would become rich and powerful by basically sending the human race into oblivion. Bad call on leaving those scenes out.
As for Star Trek; bleh. It was just a glossy, shiny, young, new Hollywood product. I'm not a Star Trek fan but even I was struck by how dumbed-down that movie was. It was more like Space Balls than Star Trek to me. I was really disappointed with that movie and the new Terminator flick. They both came out around the same time and they were both devoid of any real soul. District 9 was the movie of the summer for me.

If we can't have Singer on Superman.... then- Xmen? OH YEAH!!! Thanks for sharing this link, while it's not as happy news as Singer with a Greenlit for sure SR 2, then it's (pretty much) the next best thing!

The X-Men film universe will be about as screwed up as the Highlander film series after First Class, Wolverine 2 and Magneto. I'd rather Singer stay away and let the series go. I might be bitter that he didn't get to bring the REAL X3 to life, I dunno. I just would rather see him make something different. Coming back to Xmen for a prequel after everything that happened just seems eh to me.
The only thing that would excite me at this point would be if Singer was coming back to make the REAL X3 and X4. Which will never happen. It would be cool if he at least did a comic series based off his ideas.

Man...torn here. I am glad Singer is back but I am not glad it is a prequel. I will still see it probably.

Yeah.... I DEFINTELY would prefer his X3/X4, too--- BUT, since that's never going to happen- Hopefully First Class breaks all records under Singer, and then he'll be able to take over the reins for X4/X5/X6 etc.--- While it's not the X3 we all were hoping for, there's still a ton of great storyines and characters for Singer to draw from and I think that it might not be too hard to undo SOME of the damage done by Ratner in X3.
To me, it's sort of like the Donner cut--- even a little bit of Donner is better than none at all. Similiarly, having Singer on Xmen in any capacity is far far better than not.

Maybe they could do a Star Trek 09 for the X-Men series. Have Bishop or Cable (or any time travelling mutant) alter the past to retcon X3 out of x-istence.

I thought George Lucas was the king of revisionist sequels. (or was that prequels?)

So, Singer is going back to X-Men, Taylor Swift is in the running for Supergirl and nothing is being done about Superman. supermanhomepage.com/news.phpReports are circulating that Taylor Swift is set to take on the role of Kara Zor-El in a new Supergirl film. Bang Showbiz, a UK-based entertainment news service, reportedly received word from an inside source who claims that "A number of young stars are being mentioned for the title role in a Supergirl movie and possible TV spinoff, and Taylor is top of that list." "Hollywood is short of female heroes and the time is right for a new Supergirl. She has all the right elements to be a positive role model to young girls." The twenty year old is one of the biggest selling musical artists in the world, however her only film work is the up-coming romantic comedy "Valentine's Day" and a stint as guest host on "Saturday Night Live". We'll keep you posted on any further news or rumors regarding a possible Supergirl movie. Thanks to Joe Sergi for the lead on this news.

Or worse, be a copy of the original Supergirl flick. We all know how that turned out.
Sorry, Guru.

If they are not making another Superman movie any time soon, much less one of Supergirl. Noone really cares about her save a few online fans.
There is a bigger posibility that they'd make a Smallville movie. Which would bomb, of course. ;D

Sounds like you'd want it to bomb. No idea why though. Anything Supes related that is a success is a good thing.

Gazer, c'mon. That's a pretty silly statement to make. Supergirl is only liked by a few internet fans?

Do you think they'd have the balls to have a Supes/Routh cameo?

Supergirl would appeal a lot to the "Girl power" mindset. If its a half decent flick then it could do alright
A Routh cameo would be interesting. I don't think Routh would turn it down either.

I think a Supergirl movie, made the way movies are today, would end up as a cross between Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li and Halle Berri's Catwoman.

I don't think Routh would turn it down either. well its all about understanding the character and doingit right- which is exceptionally rare in this genre. i agree that routh would pounce on a chance to do it and ( unless the flick is uber-suckage) it would be GOOD for the superman franchise to remind people that he is superman.

Another question that comes up, if there is a Supergirl movie.... In it, will Kryptonite be deadly..... to her?
