My roommate has Netflix which is pretty goddamn convenient now that the PS3 is allowing them to have a streaming ability when using the provided disc.
Lo and behold, Superman II, THEATRICAL was on it, available for immediate play! In HD! I don't recall seeing it, that version anyway, on HD before. I could be wrong.
But hey, if you got Netflix and a PS3 or Xbox 360, check it out!

Oh sweet, so there IS an HD master out there. Could a Blu-ray be on the way?

The only other HD of Superman II I know of is Apple TV.

All four Christopher Reeve Superman films are coming back the Netflix streaming on Oct. 15. Don't know yet if they'll be HD or not.

EvilSupes uploaded and sent me the links to the HD version of the theatrical a while back. Personally I didn't see much of a difference, but then again I watched it on my computer.

Hooray! I don't know why I'm so excited about this, since I don't have an HDTV and I could just as easily pop in the discs from my box set, but this it's great to have all my old school favorites available at the push of a button. The age of streaming on-demand content is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Bad news. They're not in HD and they're in FULLSCREEN!

Yeah, it's an offering from Starz, notorious for bad streaming content.
I can't figure out any logic behind their offerings. Supermans 1 and 3 have their newer DVD artwork, while 2 and 4 have the older blue-framed covers.
1 and 2 are totally fullscreen, but 3 and 4 have their credits in widescreen. (Slightly ironic because 4's credits would display correctly in fullscreen.)

I have HDNet, and have seen it in HD. It looks *marginally* better than the DVD.

No, but someone did share the theatrical cut with me. It's over 6GB. I could be convinced to upload the whole thing.

I checked today, and Superman II is once again streaming in HD on Netflix.
Since our family just got the Roku XD for Christmas, I'm about to go check it out.
Edit: Damn it all, it's still partially cropped (to 1.78:1), and maybe it's my internet connection, but the HD didn't look all that impressive.

maybe it's my internet connection, but the HD didn't look all that impressive. It ain't your internet connection. I have the HD version on my computer and IMO the picture is actually worse. My latest draft of my cut has lots of color correction (as I pointed out in the video on my thread). If anyone here wants to make their theatrical version of S2 look better (whether your fan cutting or not) just use a simple video editing program (heck most computers already a simple program by default), and simply increase the brightness, contrast, and saturation by 10-15. It makes a huge difference.
