Tv spot #6 is.... interesting.
SPOILER ALERT, ok?
If J is telling Supes directly that the symbol is of hope, it seems a bit repetitive (and not entirely necessary) if we're also going to see Supes and Amy Adams talk about the same later. The film isn't out yet, but the thing that undermined much of WATCHMEN was a lack of subtlety and hitting one over the head every single point- just as some shots have people with slight worry, this is the first 'worry moment' for me.
((*Granted, it's jumping to a conclusion..... but that's all there really is to talk about at this point during the countdown to the movie. It's a given we're all going to probably see a few times no matter what at this stage.... and that it's micro-analyzing every trailer to death, but I think that's part of the fun, though.....))

Goyer's Batman Begins script had that problem, beating you over the head with the fear dialogue. Still a brilliant script IMO, though. I admire the way it weaves so many smaller subplots together into one cohesive whole. If we get the same qualities with Man of Steel, I'll happily overlook occasionally repetitive dialogue.

I'm pretty happy with the flying effects we have seen so far.i just hope we get a couple of slow take offs and landings showing cavill and not cgi superman.if Snyder has to use his trademark slo-mo in this film then this could be used effectively in this area.

That won't be a problem.
Look how popular the Nolan Batman trilogy is, well every film spoon fed the audience., the first film with the constant talk of 'fear'. TDK with Gordon's monologues.

It's not always CGI when he's flying at speed. Look at him as he gets up off the great and takes off, when hes hanging in the air then just explodes away. It's Cavill and then effects to emphasise the speed.

cant people who want to post spoilers do it in the thread named man of steel spoilers? or does that make too much sense In principle- you are correct. But I REFUSE to accept the PREMISE that krypton blowing up (a consistant concept in 75 years) is somehow a "spoiler". Also- a planet will blow up in "star wars", "star trek 6" and "star trek 11". Also- superman is clark kent. ;D

Agreed... Though from the early trailer we know that the takeoffs/flights have a different approach than what was done in the Donner (and Donner-inspired) versions.
I always liked in the OLD tv show with George Reeves how there seemed to be a quick ramp 'jump' as if diving off of a diving board when going to fly.
It definitely will be interesting to see what the 'rules' are this time around. I'm guessing that the only time Supes needs to 'push' against the ground like in the North Pole is when he's launching himself into space, and not 'normal' flights.

I don't know if Krypton explodes or not. I've seen the trailers a few times but every shot is so quick that I have no idea what happens... And I would also prefer that no one here gives anything away if they do seem to know more than the rest or see it early or read an early review. We need a separate spoiler thread but no spoilers here please, not yet, there's still 3 weeks to go.

It's possible that they're going to pull a 'fast one' and suggest that it explodes- but then cuts away. Maybe it explodes later on, but not necessarily as immediate as when Kal is sent away?
Pure speculation- not a spoiler- perhaps a good chunk of the military goes into the phantom zone, but has a way to get out of it on their own, when they're approaching earth? (Assuming they always meant to conquer it.... and this would explain why/if General Zod looks the same age on Krypton then Earth years later)
Since we know they're deviating from the norm in MOS, I'd say the window is pretty wide open as to what they're going to do.... (for the most part)

Which trailer are you guys liking the best? For me, it is the Comic Con trailer, even though it isn't one of the official ones.

The heat vision sound effect sounds a lot like the heat vision sound effect in II.

Less than 3 weeks lads!!
Anyone else starting to think the other Kryptonians can't fly? We see them jumping, but not flying. Look at Zod in that spot, he's basically climbing the building while Superman dives over the edge to meet him head on.
The one I want to see officially released is the spot where he's lying looking injured, and he puts his hand out and you see a few rays of sun on his hand. It looked gorgeous even in the poor quality vid I watched.

For some bizarre reason I over looked it and had been watching it on the dodgy camera video. It does look fantastic
