I saw an IGN article stating that its tracking to open at 100 million, and Warners us hoping for at least 300 million domestically, but insiders think its going to have some pretty long stating power throughout the summer yea i saw this also..100mill for opening weekend?  ?? im thinking 100mill opening day..no? |

Hey all,
basically after seeing so much of these trailers, TV spots etc....I think there's a basic equation....
Alex Ross Imagery + Donner Version Superman II + "Please create villains in CGI" (I don't care what the actual quote is...you all get the idea) + Nolan's Input = Man of Steel
I'm sure I'm going to end up seeing this movie at least 6 times in the theaters including the midnight showing this coming Thursday/Friday and of course a showing in 3D at the least. After seeing a trailer in 3D recently, this may be interesting. And my local theater has the D-Box motion seating....ya know....this "may" be the only time it's worth a damn.

I think Shannon is on the verge of stardom. Can't wait for The Iceman....if it ever comes out near me.

I didn't see a problem with that dialogue myself. I think when you've got tiny snippets to go on people get very analytical and notice every imperfection. The sun's movie guide gave it 4 stars. Poor Routh though!  |

I'm actually sort of glad I saw that Faraci tweet. I was getting a little too hyped for this after all the good early buzz. That almost always leads to disappointment, at least for mainstream blockbusters. I'm still very optimistic about it, but it's healthy to be reminded that it won't be some kind of life-altering epiphany of a film. Superman's probably the very last property that can still get me hyped to that level.

There will, undoubtedly, be a few groans in the movie. I mean, there must be. I'm sure I'll roll my eyes a few times and sigh, but eh...that's how it goes.
