You can download the files above with this program: cryptload.info/download/Make sure you've configured the right destination folder! Select the whole list and copy them to the clipboard of your computer. CryptLoad will recognize the list of rar-files on the clipboard and automaticly start downloading.. After you've downloaded the rar-files, you can select all of them and open (extract) them all at the same time with WinRar or load the whole list into the already running WinRar by selecting the md5-file first! You can do this with all lists of Rapidshare rar-files from Fanedit.org. Trying to help ..

Hi All,
Ollie was good enough to send me a copy, after watching it twice now I thought I'd share some thoughts with you.
This is one of those fan cuts that you’d consider clipping inside your SII DVD case and keep it there. Ollie pitched it as a more complete film which may have been received better had the Donner Cut looked like this. On the whole I’d agree, it is complete, it flows well and there’s none of those moments when you shudder from awful editing. The only complaints I have are based on personal scene preferences, make no mistake about it this has been constructed well. I’d suggest you get yourselves a copy. Some moments I particularly enjoyed (and Ollie should be applauded for) are:
o Fading from the North Pole kiss/hug back to landing on the balcony, so very well done. o Villains arrival at the DP, this combines the best shots by far o The magic kiss fade and turning into the DC ‘pizza’ scene, flows really well and could have been a perfectly suitable approach. o Landing behind the hot dog stand, it just works here. Its done in a way the pacing and timing is perfect. o Removing the toilet flushing from the DC and the shot of the green crystal on the ground from the LC actually made an enormous difference o The history of the villains, adding those few scenes of them wreaking havoc turned a very ordinary scene into a real narrative
I said earlier the only complaints I have relate to personal scene preference, I hate blank bullets and feel that scene has no place in a film when compared to the pink bear scene. IMO it goes against the spirit of ‘completeness’. Reinstating the arctic patrol – it works and is enjoyable, I would have preferred Lex and Eve head north/south be reinstated than artic patrol. However removing some really corny Hackman lines here helped make this work. Lastly, while I’ve always been a fan of Clark and Jimmy at the elevator, I think that scene could end/fade with the close up of Clark pondering. I never thought the shot of him walking into the broom cupboard achieved much.
In summary I think you should get yourselves a copy, Ollie has done a great job here.

Thank you for your kind feedback buddy. When I say complete I mean it flows well and there are no holes. Personally I prefer the blank bullets scene (even as a screen test), to the pink bear. It just better suits a Donner film because of the fun factor. The pink bear scene is very sweet but I'm happy with it staying in the Lester version. With regards to the head north/head south deleted scenes. I adore the Lex and Eve humour and love anything to do with the fortress but it just went on for too long so I decided not to include them. Quit a few people don't like the shot of Clark walking into the closet. I just think it's a nice nod to the old Superman serials and the cut is neat.

Im going broke on postage & blank DVDs LOL Do I have to split it into so many parts? Hi Mav, I just sent it to a member at fanedit.org who then uploaded it for me. Funnily enough even with the download I've still sent out 11 copies though I have no idea how many people have downloaded it on top of that. Joining fanedit.org is easy and just like any other forum. The folks over there are that passionate about fan edits that I don't think you'll have any problem getting it online. I can recommend a few people over there who I'm sure can help you if you'd like.

Okay just watched Ollie's cut of SII.
I have to say I am really impressed. It hasn't done anything as major as some cuts but that isn't a bad thing. In fact, I actually thought the subtle changes were really impressive. I mean, it just shows how such small changes can transform the flow of the entire movie for the better (it flows like a proper movie now not just some deleted/lost footage thrown together). All it needed for Donner's cut was some better decisions made around certain parts of the movie. If it had got this right from the start, we wouldn't have so many cuts. But anyway, I think it's nice having different cuts because it's good to see the different ways it could have been done.
I'm not sure what you did Ollie, but it looks like you somehow managed to match the colours of Donner's footage with Lesters, so that when they were used you didn't see any obvious differences.
All in all, I highly recommend Ollie's cut if you are after something very close to how Donner's cut should have been done, while at the same time preserving some of the flow of Donner's vision.
I can't wait to watch the Superman III edit.

But anyway, I think it's nice having different cuts because it's good to see the different ways it could have been done. Thanks mate, that’s about the nicest feedback I could hope for. Like you I feel had this version been released the criticism would have been significantly less. I'm sure the debates would've raged on about which is better; Donner or Lester opening, blank bullets or pink bear. And no doubt the cheap CGI effects would have got a bashing. However from and overall flow and feel I think it would've been more accepted. That’s taking nothing away from any of the other SII edits. Both RKS’s and litemakr’s were of huge inspiration to me. RKS’s was built around trying to make the best version of SII and litemakr’s was more of a novelty idea, though executed very well. My goal with this edit was never to create the ultimate version of SII, but rather to present a more complete and workable Donner version. I'm not sure what you did Ollie, but it looks like you somehow managed to match the colours of Donner's footage with Lesters, so that when they were used you didn't see any obvious differences. All the Lester footage was coloured and cropped to match the Donner footage. Once again I must thank Verisimilitude for his helpful advice in how to go about this.
