I have no hard scientific evidence for this yet, but I'm willing to wager that The Flash since the Silver Age and all the way up to now has been the most consistently well-written and well-drawn book in the DC universe (barring a few hiccups). Kevin, it's up to you to prove me right or wrong.

That would require me to read everything else to properly make an assessment. Don't you DARE put that fucking idea in my head. I already want a shit ton of the old Batman and Superman comics.

I've never been much into the Flash, but i'm kinda interested to start. Aside from Batman and Superman I'm not really that familiar with many of the DC heroes (i know the basic origin stuff, but beyond that its pretty thin). Seems like there's a lot of good stuff out there i've been ignorant to for a while. Any recommendations of what I should be looking for/starting with?

The difficulty in that is the Flash storyline is overall very long and not well collected. Single issues is, unfortunately, THE best way to go, regarding Flash, I feel. Reason being, there are two main Flashes, one being Barry Allen from the 50s til the mid 80s, having had some ROUGH shit happen to him towards the end of his "run" (HAHAHAHA) making him one of the more, unknown about tragedies of comic book characters. People thought things got dark with The Dark Knight Returns? Psssh. His story eventually ends in Crisis on Infinite Earths, which is one of the greatest stories I've ever read, comics or no.
Then there's Wally, who was Kid Flash under Barry's wing, then took over the mantle of Flash in the mid 80s up until the 2000s, I guess? That's where shit gets murky for me, though, I tuned out there for a while. However, the second series of The Flash, basically from issue #1 to #79 is absolutely FANTASTIC. After that, I didn't really like the art so I began to lose interest. Lots of stuff happened there, I guess, I dunno, Wally lost his powers or went through time or something, being the Flash tends to suck, honestly. Later on, Geoff Johns takes on the series, I read some of it when it was happening and liked it but I didn't have enough money to be into comics at the time so I didn't really partake. I hear it's really good stuff, though.
Now, the newest series that started with the New 52 is pretty damn good. Or was, I again tuned out, as I went into an old comics binge and haven't emerged from it, but that could be your best bet.
