ok, so when "HOBBIT" comes out we'll all be watching LOTR (cause we're pussies). when TDKR was released we all watched BB and TDK to "prep". when SR came out i watched STM, listened to the ottman score before loading up to the premiere. when abrams trek II is upon us we'll re watch abrams trek (and maybe galaxy quest ) for avengers we... etc etc but MOS?? totally clean slate. no previous film to "attach". i DO have a prep plan though! the score on CD will be out a few weeks ahead (as per usual). i will TRY not to look at the liner notes but i will certainly have it. what i think i'll do is to set aside a pile of superman comics, some real goodies that pertain to KRYPTON/fortress a lot. -"for the man who has everything" -"world of krypton" (70's) -byrne's man of steel -some bronze age golden oldies etc. going to have that set aside for AFTER the movie! then i think i'll pop in some Fleischer superman cartoons. two, i think will do. the first one (with a ridiculously DUMB plot but beautiful to look at) and "mechanical monsters" which is just so cool seeing superman lay waste to all those robots! 1) listen to score really loud. 2) watch Fleischer superman shorts 3) go to premiere 4) come home a dive into some excellent superman comics. 5) (come to the board and rave/bitch about it) i think that will be a cool way to build-up and cool-down. i do not want to spend a week watching all my favorite superman in media just prior. i'm going to put S:TM and S:TAS on a hiatus. i want to have a fresh pallet with no emotional swooning or bias or anything. ;D

It's weird, but...I consume so much Superman stuff throughout the year that I don't think I need any prep for this. And I'm completely at peace with this being a fresh start, so I'm certainly not gonna be watching the Reeve flicks or anything else beforehand.

If the producers' intentions is to completely reboot the film continuity, then I see no need to revisit anything that's come prior. I don't watch the old Bonds before seeing the new one. I tend to get burnt out by doing things like that.
I watched the first two Nolan Batflicks as part of marathon with TDKR, but it's supposed to be connected. I didn't watch the Burton/Schumacher films.
(And I STILL haven't seen Lord of the Rings.)

;D ;D ;D
Along those lines, I'd say watch Sucker Punch (or have a root canal without anesthetics), then say to yourself, "Well, MOS won't be as painful as that.... I hope."

I'm not going to do any prepping for the MOS premiere because there is no need for me to do this. I'm going to go see it and judge the film based on it's own merits and proceed from there.

Someone got me the Watchmen Blu for Christmas last year. Couldn't figure out why, then I saw it in a $7 bargain bin at Best Buy around New Year's. I don't remember if I watched it. I may not have even taken the wrapper off. I'll go check.

MOS being its own thing...whew! definitely a BIG deal for WB. as to james bond- i almost certainly will rewatch "casino royale" before skyfall.

Even though I'm not at these big premieres, the fun thing about the internet is being able to see SOMEONE upload the premiere with the stars/etc.-
With that damned shooting recently, though, and the cancelling of the big splashy premiere of TDKR--- hopefully WB (and the cast) doesn't get cold feet about having the big premieres around the world and media events. I dug the media blitz around the time SR came out, would be nice to see that with MOS next year.... guess we'll find out soon enough with how the other big premieres do or don't go this year....

Imagine if MOS had been good Weird to read all these years later how so many people bought into the movie with no worries. Here we are in 2022 and MOS missed the mark, never generated a continuing series, and their shared universe is in shambles and in the process of being soft rebooted.
