Will your reign of Routh fan girlism ever fall to an end? ;D

If he looked, acted and sounded like this guy then I'd be all for it.

Too bad Routh looked nothing like that in SR, although that manip is an 100% improvement.

Uh? IMO, Brandon looked mighty awesome in the film. Maybe that's one of the many reasons why I watched the film a lot of times at the theaters.

If he looked, acted and sounded like this guy then I'd be all for it. The 3D "S" is rediculous at that size. I love the size it is in the movie. Just right. I also love the "S" on the belt, (They're using it in the comics now) so, that manip is a failure in that aspect for me as well. The ONLY thing I would change, is to make the Red Brighter.

Heh, I thought the same thing. A solid S that size would make it hard to move his chest.
I didn't like the S-shield belt buckle. Nothing wrong with a good old oval. The cape definitely needs to be redder and have a yellow S on the back.

I didn't like the S-shield belt buckle. Nothing wrong with a good old oval. Nothing wrong with it being an "S" either. Its been that way in the comics before, & now is again. I quite fancy it. Agreed about the redness, but, I don't care either way about the Yellow "S" on the back. Its not needed since its on the belt, & I love that belt. Its been with & without it back & forth countless times in the Comics & Cartoons. Fleischer didn't have it, neither did TAS. Ive really grown to love everything about the SR costume, except the Red.

give Routh's suit a slightly lower neckline, so the cape would seem like it's draping over his shoulders rather than tucked around his neck. it'll emphasize his shoulder & make him look larger... at least that's what i observe when comparing Reeve & Routh's suit.
Routh's suit looked too much like a diving suit with the high neckline

Yeah and it looked ridiculously uncomfortable around his neck. Were they trying to strangle him? ;D

I avoided this thread until now because, to be brutally honest, I could give a shit about Superman petitions because I don't think they work.
But I saw all these pages and figured, hmmm. Maybe there's something interesting going in here.
Boy, was I wrong.
Why can't we just enjoy both Tom Welling AND Brandon Routh?
I guess arguing about it is too much fun?

Welling or Routh in the new movie? Well, we can't have a Donnerverse AND Smallville movie.
I haven't been a huge Smallville follower because I didn't have TV for a while and I've never managed to catch up, but I've LOVED the show whenever I've watched it.
The Donnerverse is, obviously, why I'm a Superman fan today. I'd like to see the Donnerverse continue because Supermans 1 and 2 obviously set up a great Superman universe with a lot of potential that nobody has tapped until Singer gave it a crack, but there were too many homages to the past.

I put that in to illustrate how good the suit will look with a more suitable red and a lower neck line (which will make him look bulkier) not fussed about the S size.
I also like the fact we're talking Routh in the Welling thread... ;D ;D ;D

THANKS BUT NO THANKS TO TOM WELLING AS SUPERMAN!!!
He is good playing Clark Kent on Smallville put come on...He won't even wear the suit on Smallville in the final episode of the series...Why in the heck would he want to be Superman in a film.
BRING BACK THE ROUTH
