Wow.
Uh...
That bottom one is REALLY fucking good. Like almost enough to convince me he'd be alright as Supes.
Which I actually think he may be. He's gotten so much better in Smallville.

I will not be satisfied with a "shirt rip" at the end of the series. Welling MUST be seen in full costume. And for a decent amount of time too, no Darth Vader in RotS BS.

I dunno. I'd buy it if Routh got tired of getting jerked around on a new movie getting off the ground and left.
Welling hasn't been nearly as terrible as his past two seasons. Maybe it's better direction. Maybe it's better material now that the Clark-Lana saga seems to be almost mercifully over. Maybe it's because they've toned down the makeup. Maybe it's because he's dressing like an adult and not a hick school kid.

He looked terrific on last week's episode. I'd like to see him take a shot at the role, but only on television. I have so little interest in the Smallville backstory at this point that I think it'd screw up a feature film.

Yeah. Exactly, it would have the tainted past of Smallville on it if Welling's Superman transferred into motion pictures.
Regarding the end of the series, I'd be plenty pleased with just seeing the shirt rip and BOOM "THE END"
I'd cheer. I needn't see him in full costume, but sure it'd be pretty sweet.
I may just end up watching this season. It's the last one, no?

Rumors are they may be a 9th. The producers want it to go another season and the CW is thinking about renewing it. When it's making double the ratings of 90210 and other CW shows, you know they're taking it into consideration. I for one want it to end, but you never know, season 9 may happen.

This season has been excellent, but I want it to go out on top instead of fizzling out in ninth or tenth season. If they'd transition into a Superman show then it wouldn't be a problem, but that will never happen, and the series has nowhere else to go with a pre-Superman Clark Kent. END IT NOW!
If you're serious about watching this season Kev, I'd suggest catching up online. The season's at the halfway point and you've missed some great ones, including the Legion of Superheroes episode.

I'm going out on a limb and saying the Legion episode is the best of the entire series (that I've seen). And yes, that includes the Reeve episode.

It's a tough call. I'd rank it in the top five for sure, but there have been so many great ones over the years. And considering how essential Lex Luthor is to the series it's amazing that he is nowhere to be found in an episode that's in consideration for being the best.
I will say this about the Reeve episodes...I think they're a bit overrated. Blasphemy I know, but hear me out. It was great to see Reeve on the series. His involvement served as a stamp of approval and garnered a lot of respect for the SV. I think he did a great job with his character and in the context of the show's mythology it works. However, I never much liked the idea of an astronomer being the first to reveal to Clark his alien origins. The terms "Krypton" and "Kal-El" should be reserved for Jor-El to discuss with his son. Swann serving as a go-between for Clark and Kryptonian knowledge just didn't feel right. It didn't even add up with Clark mentioning, "There was still so much I had to learn from him about Krypton and Jor-El." Like what? He relayed the message he intercepted, what else could he have to offer? That aside, I'm glad they found a way to incorporate Reeve into the series, and have honored his character's importance long after his death. I know it's weird for one of the few resident SV fans to be criticizing what many hold to be one of the series' best aspects, but that's my take.

Nah nah, I WATCHED the Legion episode, which is why I may watch the rest of the season. Is Johns writing any more episodes?
Yeah, it was definitely one of the best episodes for damn sure. But I have missed a many.

It helps when you know the characters and the Legion itself from the comics.

So was Legion so good that even MAV might crack a smile? Nah, it was good but not that good, imo. It is like with "Justice", everybody kept saying that it was the best thing ever, but when I finally watched it, it was typical Smallville cheese. I was seriously underwhelmed by it. But that's me. I think it takes more to impress MAV. ;D

If I ever did watch Welling as Superman, I'd like a straight to dvd movie of the transition but still being called Smallville and then the new series takes over as Superman starting out. A better version of Lois & Clark.

I think it takes more to impress MAV. ;D Sorry guys, Gazer is right. Listen, I'm not hating just for the sake of hating. I'm not Adam15. Its just impossible for me to enjoy anything to do with Smallville because the overall show itself is just so damned silly. They've fucked up too much for too long for me to ever be able to take it serious ever again. Its not that I hate Welling. I think hes an alright guy & a decent young Clark, but hes just so tainted by what hes been given to do, that I don't want him anywhere near a cape. Lest ye forget, I was a big fan during the first 3 seasons. But, when it turned out that I was making excuses for it more than I was enjoying it, I thought: "Wait a minute, what the heck am I doing here? They're raping Superman & dumbing it down to make 13 year old girls like it. Fuck This."So, its not so much that I'm opposed to Welling as Superman, its that I'm opposed to anything to do with that silly Schizophrenic show having anything to do with Superman. You cant having Smallville without Welling, & you cant put Welling in a Superman Movie without the raw stank booty funk of Smallville attached to it. As far as the new ep is concerned, theres just no way I could bring myself to watch it, much less enjoy it. Even if they threw 108 cool fanboy winks & nods at me, I'd still be thinking in the back of my mind: "This is the show with Kryptonite Chewing gum." & "Is Lana gonna cry now"Its like Indy IV. The 15 minutes of good shit isnt worth sitting through the other 2 hours of Garbage. Sorry fellas
