I gasped. I was in awe. I want a Krypton movie.
Last time I heard a full audience gasp was at Signs, the end with the alien in the TV's reflection. Coulson's death was a close second, of late.

What bugs me is that- if/once Superman has full control of his flying... that he'd be smart in doing more graceful takeoffs- in order to not scare/alarm people who would freak out/see him as a possible threat in the first place. If he constantly was 'holding back' his full power growing up as a kid, you'd think it would be a natural instinct to approach things softer when people are around (especially if he could crush them like tissue paper with his superstrength without trying).

Krypton suprisingly was cool---- I recently got the "Man of Steel" book and read about how the designs came from the idea of Krypton really sucking their resources dry... thus most of Krypton as a barren wasteland. Would be interesting to see flashbacks to Krypton when it was in its youth and prime.

Yeah but then they would be better served with wire work... god forbid they try that.

I do wonder how bad wire work has messed up actors' backs or health permanently. I get slivers here and there about tv shows that have had wire work, and how it affected actors. I thought at this stage of filmmaking (especially with wirework just about everywhere in (too many if you ask me) martial arts films, that all the bugs would have been worked out of the process.... but maybe the damage that can happen/happens is worse than reported? Could that be the whole reason behind SR and MOS's avoiding wirework so much?

Sure is possible! Hmm.
When you first learn a skill, are you immediately an expert or does it take time to hone that skill? I doubt if you learned you could fly, you'd lift off like a small balloon from the start. You probably would have to burst from the ground for a while before you get it right.

The guy who played Howard Hughes in The Rocketeer would be a great Luthor.

You mean John Locke from L O S T? He's a bit too old to go against a young Cavill, but yeah, he would rule.

Russel crowe wants a krypton prequel- he's asking fans to write/petition WB for it.
I've always thought a superman series should have an entire film for krypton- ending with kals birth. But no ones asking me.
I doubt therell be a krypton movie- but flashbacks or a godfather 2 formula would rock. I despereately want to see jor and zod as allies Vs brainiac. Then have breainiac show up on earth.
Any of you hear the "doomsday" theory? Since kara (supergirl) is, in this version, supermans ancestor as opposed to immediate cousin she was on the ship that zod stole but 18000 years ago. The theory is that the villain dev-em had a "biological weapon" on board when the ship crashed. The weapon being doomsday and kara dies subduing the creature- but now that another kryptonian is here.... I dunno- I like it- probably not happening though.
How about my plot? What if michael shannon played bizzaro? Like if the military asks luthor to study the DnA just in case superman goes rogue and luthor clones him and programs him to obey him alone, but he goes wonky and its all "frankenstien" like.

One thing that MoS2 needs is a title credits and theme at the fucking start of the movie.
We need to have the Hans Zimmer "Ideal of Hope" music at the start of the film, accompanied by a series of flashbacks to MoS.
None of this "he has to earn his theme music so it's at the end of the movie" bullshit. It was cute in Casino Royale, but now, I say fuck that nonsense.

well it was played to end MOS so I'd say that it's been earned and would be used throughout any sequel. But how was it cute in Casino Royale?

By the way, how come STM could have the title music at the start of the movie? Why didn't Reeve's Superman have to "earn" the music?

No one wants to read credits anymore. A lot of TV shows are doing "title cards" and just rushing through credits at the bottom corner of the screen during the opening scene. Full credits would be absurd on some shows. "Supernatural" has two lead actors, that's it. No need for a 60-second opening sequence with a song.
I don't mind opening credits as long as they're not overly long. Got five producers? Lump them together. I don't need to see each one with his name isolated. Costume designer? No regular person gives a shit, especially if the movie is contemporary. The actors wore jeans. Probably designer, but still nothing special to warrant a credit. Actors/actresses with less than five lines don't get an opening credit, shove their asses to the back. Is it a big star? Then it's an uncredited cameo.

If Lex Luthor is a part of MOS 2, i think either Bradley Cooper or Woody Harrelson would be great, but it depends which version of Luthor they're going for. If it's a more akin to L&C, a smooth, well read billionaire business man then go with Cooper. But if its a more diabolical and outright evil character, go with Harrelson. He may seem like kind of an odd choice but, after watching some of the HBO movie "Gamechange", I really think he could be great in it.
Also, bring in Dan Turpin. He was great in the animated series and it would be great to see Superman actually building a relationship with Metropolis law enforcement. And this is a long shot, but if you can get Robert De Niro to play Turpin, even better.
More importantly, I want them to continue bringing to life aspects of the character the movie's haven't explored. Some more history from Krypton, Kandor, Brainiac, little hints of Darkseid perhaps, etc. etc. Embrace the character's sci-fi aspects instead of ignoring them!
And, after seeing Crowe in MOS, I would TOTALLY be down for an all Krypton prequel.

I like ATP's idea: Bryan Cranston as Luthor.
