Was Pete Ross lying?

Some of you may remember one part of MoS where Pete Ross' mother says, "My son was in the bus. He saw. What Clark did."

Anyway, I just realised this was a lie.

He wasn't in the bus when Clark lifted it up. He was outside the bus, and Clark had to rescue him separately.

And also, it's pretty unlikely that he saw Clark doing anything if he was under the water.

It is possible to see underwater ATP. Ross could have been right next to the bus underwater and seen Clark start pushing it out.
