Bullshit.
It's already been discussed extensively, it was just another thread to get the usual suspects on board, slate the film for a bit and kill some of your free time.
You asked how people felt about Superman killing, on that subject I asked you why it was an issue for you in one film and not another, even then your reasoning is fucking hilarious.
Like UF said, reword the question, maybe 'No Donner discussion' allowed, then you might be able to pull this on off without looking like a complete tit.

I look like a tit?
I'm not the one redirecting, pal.
Speaking of looking like a tit, who are the Reeve Only People, Kris?

Why don't you ask the board member who came up with the Reeve only term? Just a suggestion. But yes, you look like a tit, not just in this discussion but most of the time

Who are the Reeve Only People, Kris?
Or do you admit that you made up fairly tales to suit your pro-MOS stance?
Why do I look like a tit? I already stated that I didn't mind Superman killing, as long as the execution is right. And it wasn't in MOS.

context, and consequence. superman is not wolverine or punisher- but then captain america and other "noble" heroes do kill as needed. its a slippery slope- but not a deal breaker. Caps a solider. It's part of his job to understand that it might be necessary to kill in the line of duty. If he didn't get that he never should have signed up. Big difference when you compare him to Superman. Even Wonder Woman comes from a race of warrior women. War and everything that comes with it is a part of their culture.

We actually see Captain America firing a gun towards the beginning of the film.
But just because Cap does it, doesn't mean Batman should, right?

HAHA!! aw diddums, so you just assumed it wasn't murder? and yet you criticize the writing in MOS, where was the remorse in SII? I await tallo to come along and pull you up for your Goyeresque bullshit excuse. Lay off the drink for once He don't need me. It's not close to Goyeresque bullshit for one thing. I remember when Goyer used to WRITE the corny shit he now looks down his nose at. Another difference is SII's ending is a lot more ambiguous than man of steels. And killing Zod in MOS was far more of a clear choice or statement on the issue. Like Enrique said some people are trying to make this about SII vs MOS when Enrique wasn't even asking that.

And his duty falls under everything that encompasses. Caps not gonna take killing lightly but he would and should consider the option long before batman would. They were formed by different circumstances. Batman should be more hesitant to kill.

[quote author=" Metallo" source="/post/162054/thread" timestamp="1383058938 Zods scheme probably kills thousands but Superman crosses the line for one family? I saw it as the point where he realises what he must do. The family represents everyone and what Zod is willing to do to us all. It's not that Superman doesn't care about anyone else, he was just too wrapped up in his fight to remember what was at stake. A little dialogue after would have been nice though.[/quote] Why didn't he do it a few families ago? I doubt they were the only family to get killed. With his powers I'm sure he heard the screams. The movies totally flawed on this bit. Supes just doesn't seem to even care before that. You say it's not that he doesn't but why we be joking with Lois Lane before the big showdown with Zod? Then after he does kill Zod the mostly gloss over it except for a scream and then he seems well adjusted in the next scene.

So, this for real? This is all STILL happening for real?
Those of you who constantly "word battle" each other: You're all ruining the board. To heck with you and your ridiculous board personas. I came here to have fun and discuss stuff with people, not read the same fucking bullshit from the same fucking people for the rest of fucking time. Fuck it. I'm gonna block the lot of you. Enough's enough. If you clowns can't grow up, I don't want to see what any of you have to say.
PATHETIC

I love ya kev, but~ c'mon. Man of steel is ...6 ? 7? Months old? And we STILL talk about donner/lester footage from '81? Put it in context. If we can still wrangle over otis being more or less "campy" (its not camp says merm) than say gus gorman then 2 or 3 troll heckling man of steel with redundant threads while fiegning curiosity is small potatoes. Now, let's have a beer and watch some cartoons.

The way MOS handled it was piss poor.
