That video represents every die hard Snyder fanboy who thinks he can do no wrong. I don't hate diehard fans of most things, but it can be frustrating trying to have a conversation that doesn't get overly heated with them. Some might think I'm a diehard Bryan Singer fan- but I think I've been critical of him when his work warranted it (imo) and have tried to be open for back and forth discussion.

Difference is you can admit when you think Singer makes a mistake. No director makes perfect films. Those die hard Snyderites will not only never admit that MAYBE some of Snyders ideas don't work but they'll tear down anything or anyone they percieve as critical or a threat. "Donner sucks" or "Marvel sucks" or "CW sucks" or Burton sucks or "Nolan Sucks".
They'll tear down any and everything to prop up their films and that's just stupid. If you like a film fine but don't go blaming everything else for its failure or because other people don't like it.

It's unfortunate when people dig their heels in, and just start lashing out emotionally rather than talking civilly and it used to bother more- but I think of it like seeing office basketball games - where a co-worker might see sudden persona changes of other co-workers once they're in the middle of a game- a shy guy becomes a bully on the basketball court... then goes back to being the shy guy once everyone goes back to work.
I've heard of people murdering each other over arguing over sports teams- I've always thought movies as the thing that people would be not as argumentative about.... but.... it is what it is, I guess.

I know, it's pretty weird. I posted about how I liked Snyder's Superman films in another thread, and this poster named Metallo went on really long diatribes about how awful his films are.

Need to work on your comprehension skills cause I think youre confusing me with yourself buddy boy. I've never had a problem admitting a film I liked was crap or blaming another film for its failure. I liked Dredd. What films did I tear down because of its failure? Yet here you are using this crazy transference to once again prop up Snyders films when someone says they don't like them. You can like his films...but that doesn't mean someone can't disagree. But then that's why you went to the facebook herd. Are you here to contribute anything else or just to troll? I thought you said some interesting things on Superman Lives so if you're here to converse on things I'd be glad to have you here but if you're only here to lurk and snipe I fail to see the point.

Neat graphic!
Really dislike Smallville's 'decostumed' versions of heroes, and the 'Frankenstein' costume of the JL (though, oddly, didn't really notice it as much as I thought I would- Cyborg's was more irritating).

Seems like they wanted to keep that style with the Justice League because other heroes didn't wear more classic costumes. Martian Manhunter would be the exception. I wasnt crazy about most of the costumes either. Out of the JLA the best looking costume was Green Arrows.

Funny thing is: If JL was going to bring back the 'happier' Superman, then why not also have an excuse to restore some of the original costume design? I can live with the newer costume, but it always will feel like a compromise or a smack in the face that Superman isn't 'cool' enough to transfer to this era.

You mean with the JL movie? Beyond the belt buckle I’m not sure what they could bring back. I’ve accepted that the trunks are never coming back and I’d be fine with that if they could figure out an appropriate design alternative. If anything the JL costume could do with toning it down and taking stuff away like the wrist cuffs and scale texture to make it look more classic. It’s got most of the classic elements it’s just the modern additions that make it look over designed. I did like the lighter colors.

I do wonder how much fighting Singer had to do, to keep the trunks... Odd how Snyder was able to (pretty much) keep all the elements of Wonder Woman in the original bathing suit look, with tweaks, but couldn't accept/figure out Superman's trunks....

Wonder Woman had the same problem with the trunks. DC struggled for years in the comics. They gave her full pants for a bit then dropped them because it didn’t really look right. The Cathy Lee Crosby and Adrianne Palicki costumes did the same thing by making the trunks into pants but it still looked “wrong.” I was ok with the pants idea but they needed some work. Snyder sort of solved it by going back to the old golden age look with the skirt but instead of cloth it’s leather and metal like Xenas skirt. It solves the problem of being too skimpy but still keeps the color pattern layout of the classic Wonder Woman suit. Wonder Woman’s also fared better than Supes because the tights basically became stripped down Greco Roman armor so it stayed true to the characters background but is also still faithful. Elektras had the same problem as Wonder Woman in tv and film but I still don’t think they’ve quite cracked it. I liked the look in the spinoff movie but can see why a lot of people didn’t. They also figures out how to translate the sillier aspects of Captain America’s suit for the movies too. The head wings are absurd but they figured out a clever way to work them into the design. Remember they were dropped from the suit in the Ultimates comics. With Superman if they could figure out a good design for the belt that keeps the red and yellow around his midsection they’ve solved the problem but I’ve yet to see a design that fully works.
