It's cool, but I wish the artist had Reeve in a slightly stronger pose, compared to Batkeaton.

Whoa! That's an interesting Ross image- I'd ask if it was for an upcoming book, but with Disney/Marvel and WB/DC being competing studios, probably not...

It’s from one of his exhibits. I thought it was pretty amusing since Prowse was Reeve’s trainer.

Funny thing is, outside of Kingdom Come, where Superman is supposed to be a lot older- I generally am not thrilled with Ross's choice of model for Superman. I wish he chose to use Reeve's likeness directly instead, (but could understand why as there probably would be licensing lawyers that would be knocking on Ross's door).

Ross likes his heroes more macho older and rugged. More of that silver age style dad hero than the versions of the characters who are younger. Think pulp heroes. That's why he loves those so much too.
That's why I think Ross was more into George Reeves than Christopher Reeve. A lot of that probably comes from what he first started watching and reading and when.

Pretty cool! I find these stop motions often more fun than the official DC animated features lately....

I love stop motion especially the really complex involved ones like that. It’s a dying art that takes a lot of skill and patience but is really fun when you have the finished product.

I LOLed. Shows what the perception of the dceu is right now if people in the actual entertainment industry are making fun of it and not just fanboys online.

I'd be curious what the talks are like inside of WB walls on Kevin Feige and his success, versus WB's struggling to catch up.... But as you once mentioned, they maybe want somebody that they could trust to be their Kevin Feige- but Chris Nolan isn't that guy nor Snyder. I wonder if they briefly thought Joss Whedon could have been that guy with the rewrite for JL- but with it's performing so badly at the box-office, they probably came to the conclusion that his influence alone wasn't going to guarantee anything.

I don’t know if Whedon could have been a Feige but he could have been a real asset for them if he’d been allowed to help guide these movies from the ground up instead of doing a patch job. He would have at least done a better job than Snyder or Goyer because he has experience showrunning and producing for tv. He’d built his own shared universe before.
I’m sure people in WB talk about Feige because they want what he helped accomplish. The MCUs success is what spurred them on to try their own version. With Infinity War cracking 2 billion they have to be wishing they’d done it like Marvel did as far as giving it to the right guy and leaving them alone to work. I think now they know they have to back off that for a while but it’s still got to sting and a lot of those execs have to want their Avengers.

I think now they know they have to back off that for a while but it’s still got to sting and a lot of those execs have to want their Avengers. I'm sure MCU's success is the talk of ALL the studios--- but the studios who don't have access to a popular comic book property probably decided early on to not compete and do their own thing (Paramount never tried to my knowledge/ 20th Century looks like they finally gave up & went for the 'buy me out' check/ Universal is oddly holding onto the Hulk and doing NOTHING with it) --- whereas with Warner Bros- yeah, with the whole library of properties- how could shareholders NOT push WB to take some kind of action, seeing the billion-dollar grosses? You're 100% right with Whedon- he already had a 'mini-shared universe' with showrunning and producing a good number of solid tv shows. In seeing what Whedon and the Rousso brothers bring to the table, though... For Whedon: PROS: #1: He IS a genuine comics fan #2: His screenwriting skills demonstrated on Buffy/Angel/Firefly #3: His showrunning and tv producing skills via his tv shows- #4: Highly capable of creating engaging shows that still can show on tv (in other words, family friendly/Disney friendly material) CONS: #1: His two Avenger films (though the second one was superior in terms of filmmaking) feel like big tv movies #2: I'm not 1000% on his casting choices- (i.e. Scarlet Witch) #3: He turned Hawkeye into a saccharine family man- wth? For the Rousso Brothers: PROS: #1: Incredibly cinematic filmmakers- who know how to stay on-budget #2: Captain America: Winter Soldier, Civil War #3: Great casting in their films. (From what I can tell) CONS: #1: Why wasn't Avengers:Infinity War as polished as their other films? #2: Civil War and Avengers weren't quite as balanced with all their characters- even though it may be the last times we get to see them on-screen- (Not the worst negatives, but if looking for something negative...) In any case- To me, the ideal scenario is to have Whedon script, Roussos direct- and/or have them jointly be a Feige if WB/DC were chasing someone to be that, at WB....
