I think Origins is where Fox first really started to b movie up the Xmen franchise. Last stand was bad but you could at least blame some of that on the rush to get it done. FC is when the continuity really started to go to crap.

Interesting that BvS and JL confirmed we were right to be disappointed in MoS

If WB is smart, they'll just payoff the actor hired for Flash, and use the tv Flash actor instead. Someone should give you a million dollars and a medal, CAM. You have no idea how right you were.

Do you think there is any point in continuing with the Snyder universe for Superman, or should it be rebooted again? This incarnation has already wrecked a lot of things that cannot be fixed. Jimmy Olsen for example. Maybe it would be best to reboot already. But they'll never hard reboot. The cast isn't a deal breaker for me since I think most of them could do well given better writing and direction. I'd be willing to keep them. Dealing with something more possible I'd like them to use Flash to pull off a Star Trek 09/X-Men DOFP type of situation where history is altered. Maybe a Flashpoint type of situation. Being even more hopeful maybe they could use that to merge the tv shows and films. That's something WB could do to fix things without throwing away everything they've built min their DCEU. Kinda called it again but I think other people were floating this idea as early as 2016 too. I didn’t think they’d actually do it that early though.

I wouldn't want JJ for Superman. He's good enough at picking up existing franchises and revitalising them. But they feel like they are formulaic and a bit soulless. His Star Wars entry didn't have the magic that the OT did, even though it was a competent movie. Superman needs someone who has a feel for drama and fantasy as opposed to science fiction. I honestly can't think of any director today who is the equivalent of Donner in the late 1970s. You were right. I take it back!

They were definitely making the moves to get Snyder out.

I'm not so sure about it not meeting its box office. It only opened ten million less than Age of Ultron. It didn't meet the projected opening weekend though. think it'll do well long term and have stronger legs because it's a much better movie. I enjoyed it a lot but it wasn't as good as I hoped. I think the hype was too large and hurt it. I don't think audiences are tiring of comic book movies but we may have seen them peak financially. At this point we've seen so much it's easy to take a "good" movie for granted. We expect MCU movies to be good at this point so unless they are amazing it's business as usual. Avengers was a unique first time experience and I'm not sure we will ever see a superhero movie reach that box office again. Not even Justice League. Only thing that has a shot is maybe Infinity War or some sort of Fox/Disney deal down the line. I was wrong. They hadn’t peaked financially. Marvel made even bigger box office hits. Hindsight!
