Why does the stuff I want to see get cancelled or blocked- and the stuff I could care less about get the greenlight? Oy. Maybe it'll suprise me (like Smallville did to a degree), but... I don't know...

It’s because the studio is run by doofuses and the show is made by people who know how to kiss the right @ss and keep their jobs. This is from some of the same people that worked on Batwoman. While that show went down in flames these con men and women already had their contingency plan in place: Gotham Knights.

“Stargirl” To End With Its Third Season

The CW’s DC Comics drama “Stargirl” has been cancelled. The show will end is run with its current third season which is slated to air its finale on December 7th.

The news had been rumored for some time and comes as the broadcast network has massively reduced its volume of U.S. scripted originals following its sale to station group Nexstar.

Creator Geoff Johns says in a statement that due to “all the brewing changes at the network” they were aware last season that it was a good possibility the third season would be the show’s last. Thus the season has been written with “complete creative closure” in mind and has been able to finish its story.

Brec Bassinger leads the cast of the series which was among the few scripted originals on The CW to have survived the 2022-23 season and becomes the fourth CW scripted original to get a proper ending this season, alongside the final runs of “Nancy Drew,” “The Flash” and “Riverdale”.

Pity as Stargirl was one of the best Arrowverse shows, even if it skewed a bit young.

On the flip side, hopefully Geoff Johns takes over showrunning duties on Titans.

Several Return In “Flash” Final Season

Several familiar faces are making a return to “The Flash” for the upcoming ninth and final season.

David Ramsey will reprise his role of John Diggle, Keiynan Lonsdale is back as Wally West/Kid Flash and Sendhil Ramamurthy will guest star as Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork.

David Ramsey’s Diggle helped launch the Arrow-verse, appearing in the “Arrow” pilot and having guest starred on almost every show – often multiple times. Here Diggle will return to protect Central City alongside Team Flash.

Executive producer Eric Wallace says they created a “special and heartfelt story” for the return of Lonsdale’s Wally West and shows off a side of the character not seen before.

Finally, Ramamurthy’s sixth season early villain is back with his return setting in motion one of the Flash’s “wildest and most emotional adventures yet”. He will appear in the ninth episode of the season and likely kicks off the final story for Team Flash.

They join former “The 100” alum Richard Harmon who takes on the Captain Boomerang role, “Supergirl” star Nicole Maines reprising her Nia Nal/Dreamer role, Javicia Leslie reprising her Ryan Wilder/Batwoman role, and Andy Mientus back as Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper.

Red Death and Murmur will also appear as characters but it’s unclear who will play them this time out. Shooting on the final season is set to wrap on March 6th, with the finale to air sometime in May.

The ninth season will consist of thirteen episodes broken into two storyline arcs. “The Flash” final season returns on February 8th.

Stephen Amell Returns For “Flash” Final Run

“Arrow” star Stephen Amell will strap on the green leather one last time, the actor reprising his role of Oliver Queen for a guest spot on the upcoming final season of “The Flash” on The CW.

Amell kickstarted the Arrow-verse shows on the network with his series, which makes it fitting he’s there for the end. The actor played his role of Oliver Queen across eight seasons of “Arrow” and has guested several times on “The Flash” before as part of the network’s annual crossover events.

He joins other returning cast members for the new season, including former co-star David Ramsey as John Diggle, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West/Kid Flash, Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman, Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Dr. Ramsey Rosso/Bloodwork.

Amell will guest star in the season’s ninth episode, the same one that Ramamurthy will return in, which suggests it will be a major event episode. In a statement, “The Flash” showrunner Eric Wallace says:

“As soon as our final season was announced, we knew we wanted Stephen to come back and reprise his iconic role as Oliver Queen. After all, it was Oliver who originally launched Barry Allen on his heroic path. That’s why everyone on Team Flash felt so strongly that it was important to create a full-circle moment with Oliver’s return in the final season of The Flash.”

How Oliver returns isn’t clear, considering that the character died twice during the ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover episodes. Wallace teased the episode as ‘epic-yet-emotional’ and a real ‘thank you’ to everyone who has watched not just “The Flash” but all the Arrow-verse series.

Amell currently appears on Starz’s “Heels”. “The Flash” kicks off its ninth season run on February 8th.

I wish I was in love with the Berlianti verse more....

It's of course definitely miles ahead of the old Flash and Hulk tv shows of the past, but.... below the best of Trek and Whedon shows.

Still-I do respect that they take the extra step of trying to get cast members back or included within the Berlianti-verse, particularly with their Crisis miniseries being their best.
