The Ratner/Ellen Page incident really bothers me. She says producers told her not to make any problems and just say nothing but doesn't give names. I wonder which producers it was. Did Lauren Schuler Donner just stand there and let that greasebag harass and assault this girl and not even tell him to stop? I sure hope not. Evil triumphs when good people do nothing. I shouldn't be shocked, but I am/was pretty shocked with the number of stories coming out of Hwood. With so many dying to get into the business, you'd think that those who broke into the biz would be extremely grateful to the universe and at the minimum do no harm. I'm too naive, clearly.

I'm not. In an industry that large and with such an imbalance of power between people desperate for careers and the money men and executives there was bound to be a lot of innapropriate stuff going on. There are people who are victimized in every industry. The people involved just aren't as high profile.

There are people who are victimized in every industry. The people involved just aren't as high profile. True- While it's hopeful that something positive comes out of it all- outside of the potential negatives you've mentioned, in addition to it (though on a smaller scale) I think the painful thing (from my side not being in the industry or related to anyone in it)- is that it takes away from almost every movie and tv show the folks who are revealed to be in these abuses of power are in. It's hard to separate people from the art- and if they've got baggage so strong, there goes connecting to any story that they're in as well- definitely breaking the fourth wall and smearing it with the ugliness of realities that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Oh well.... There's tons of classics that feature people who don't have dirt (or none we're aware of)....

More than anything I'm glad these scumbags are being outed and punished (it's not usually because it's right it's more about the bottom line for their bosses) but it's disappointing in that we are seeing people and properties that have been institutions for decades being swept away because of their own vices. Charlie Rose...gone. Just like that. John Lasseter, one of the people who made Pixar a creative giant of animated films, gone.
Seeing things change overnight takes some getting used too. Then there's the issue of their work. Do you separate the art from artists? It feels wrong to do it but at this point it seems like if you want to watch ANYTHING you have to.

I kind of wish actresses would also speak up for the GOOD guys as well, so it doesn't seem like it'll just reinforce the idea "all guys are no good" notion or secret fear. Also- good to note that there can be abuse on both sides of the judgement. We weren't there- is it possible that a reasonable person thought something was consensual? It has to go on a case by case basis, of course- But- I wonder if there's anyone with hidden agendas against these guys, too- not that it makes them necessarily innocent, but it's good to know the WHOLE story if we have to be exposed to it....

Wouldn't shock me if some jump on the bandwagon for publicity or payback. I do think there are some women that are speaking up for the good guys out there though.
I feel bad for Rose McGowan and what she went through but she seems to have kinda lost it a little bit imo with the way she's saying everyone in Hollywood new. She seems to be on a crusade but we all know how THE crusades turned out. Innocent people got killed too. Don't let a good cause turn into a witch hunt. Her attacks on Xmen Apocalypse's billboards were ridiculous. She seemed to be looking for an offense where there was none.

Calm and reasoned is the best way to go in these things, I feel... staring firestorms trample too many people who have nothing to do with the problem to begin with (in general).

I just get this feeling that some people go looking for trouble when there isn't even an indication of transgression in all this.

First pic of Robin in the Titans streaming series. Looks alright. About what I expected in this current era of superhero styles. I hope this is set in the Arrowverse because between this, Gotham, The movie version of Nightwing, and whatever they do with the DCEU we could potentially have three or four versions of Dlck Grayson on screen at once and that just seems like it could be needlessly convoluted. Makes sense that the movies are using Nightwing and the show is using Robin but I am surprised Robin isn't Damien Wayne.

I think it looks pretty good, actually... (at least the photo does, who knows how it looks on the show)

It reminds me of the Arkham games. I like that it takes a break from the style of Arrowverse costumes. Not that I don't like those but I like something different.

Maybe it's just me but I see a birds head in Robins symbol. You can make out the beak and beak tip, the eye, and feathers. That's pretty neat design idea that I don't think I've ever seen before. It still looks like the 90s logo and you wouldn't notice the bird motif from a distance.

I think (at least what's shown of) the costume looks pretty good! That is neat about the bird motif!

Yeah I agree. From the little we see this costume might fit well with the dc movies. I'm looking forward to the show despite some reservations. I just hope Titans and Black Lightning tie into the Arrowverse. It would be a huge missed opportunity not to use Manu Bennett as Deathstroke on Titans. I don't see the point if casting yet another actor and version of Slade when there are already two.

It's a weird time with DC tv- on one hand, I'm glad that they let more than one version of a character exist onscreen, (like Superman for film and tv at the same time) otherwise we'd still have a Superman/Clark that constantly only texts to his cousin during emergencies- which seems REALLY weird.... On the other hand- Lack of/ No desire to/ coordinate some kind of continuity means a bit of being 'less special' by overexposure and/or just too many versions, and take you out of any particular version.

Yeah I agree. In hindsight we were lucky they let there be different universes on tv and film. It gave people a choice who didn't like one version compared to another.
On the other hand it's like you said. I think they've run the risk of splitting the enthusiasm from some of their fanbase. Some people will enjoy both while others will always compare. But again it does give people options. Sometimes the films have done better while other times the tv shows have done better
Except for a couple of eXceptions Marvel only has one version of their characters on screen. One Spider-Man, one Hulk, one Daredevil. Each actor truly has a kind of creative ownership of that role until their time is up. Far less insances of them being compared to "the other guy" especially when the other guy is doing it at the same time. It's got to be a little bit awkward for some of them. For others I think it's just a job and they couldnt care less.
But when you got three versions of the same character running around it's pretty bizarre.

STM's era is the prime example of a superhero film being a giant rarity in cinema.... versus now, where there's arguably so many that we have quality ranging from extremely poor to pretty darn good. Pity that there's no 'middle ground' in a positive way where we can actually have some time to savor some really great ones, rather than feeling like they're constantly coming out every few months. Next year, as an example, I notice some odd scheduling with interesting superhero and/or fantasy films coming out in February and March!

First off I watched Black Lightning and liked it a lot. It was the cw version of “gritty” urban crime (lol) but it was more serious and rough than Arrows been in a long time so that’s a good thing. Jefferson Pierce really took a beating and they showed how vulnerable he is. Thought Cress Williams was great. The backstory they have was a combo of the original and the 2009 origin and I thought it was strong. Really like that they went with Tobias Whale as the villain of the season. My only major gripe is the costume. In flashbacks they showed an earlier suit that looked more like the suit he had in the comics in recent years but this new tv one is some kind of armored tech suit that lights up all neon when he uses his powers. Looks pretty hokey. But otherwise I’m in for the next episode.

First look at Hawk and Dove from Titans. Those costumes look GREAT (at least from this angle)- I just wish they kept Hawk and Dove as brothers. The switch to make Dove a female seemed too easy as a creative choice.

FINALLY there's a costume! Yes! But... Hopefully they kill the beard. It doesn't look like it fits. But, hopefully more costumes from the LSH show up in SG!

Sarah Douglas to appear on Supergirl ep “Fort Rozz” Cool. Kinda came out of nowhere. I knew she wanted to do the show but this is the first I’ve heard of her actually appearing. I wonder if her characters the one who created Fort Rozz?

www.darkhorizons.com/kid-flash-confirmed-for-cws-legends/It’s a good move for the show. Lonsdale isn’t a very good actor, in fact I thought even Franz Drameh (Jax) was better than him, but LOT is a better place for him right now than Flash. On Flash Wally was rather redundant with Barry around and they always had to come up with reasons to take Wally out of the story otherwise it would be much easier to solve problems with two speedsters. This way Wally gets a chance to shine and develop on his own. He gives the Legends a power boost and brings a skill set that none of the others have. It also keeps the status quo of broad representation on the show the same with one black character replacing another instead of losing one of the few people of color they have on the show. It also keeps that youth and inexperience element that Jax brought to the team. Lots of different character interactions to explore too. I’m particulary interested to see how Wally bounces off Heatwave.
