It was released in June 2013.
When I look back at all the excitement leading up to it, I get a distinct Phantom Menace feeling.

After 3 years, should we give up any hope of learning who the Reeve Only People are?

After 3 years, should we give up any hope of learning who the Reeve Only People are? Who knows? I just know that the behavior was not pleasant to view for the stretch where MOS came out on a number of sides. I have enough real life headaches. Seeing personal battles and lack of respect for communication here over a fictional character and movie made the forum fairly distasteful to come to for awhile. What's the old Disney saying? "If you can't say something nice..."

Hi, been away so long.
So, finally watched Man of Steel and quite liked it. It's a completely new take and feel on the legend, but valid, I think. I'm not going to write a review, but it is definitely very different to Donner's Superman, but in a good way. Jor-El has a more active role, and the way Lois meets Supes/Clark is also new but really good. It's more realistic. She seems smarter than Donner/Singer's Lois, honestly, and I loved Amy/Henry's romantic chemistry. Yeah the kiss they have seems out of place, but I get the sense that they are just happy to still be alive and the attraction they have for one another is strong so they just go for it, lol.
I loved seeing Supes/Clark learning to fly for the first time and that speech by Jor-El got me very emotional. It was honestly very beautiful and inspirational seeing it for the first time on film. It also didn't bother me when he killed Zod, because he had no choice and he felt bad about it. He lost his innocence in MOS and lost his life in BvS. And all to protect mankind. MOS it's better than SR in some ways like action and the story is better for me. That said, I still love SR and enjoy it for what it is, a sequel to Superman The Movie and S2. MOS is a different animal, but it also has its heart and feels modern while SR is nostalgic. Both feel epic to me.
I still like BvS more. It feels more deep, epic and poignant. I like it more and more. Hope Justice League is even better, though I know it's going to be different as well.

Of course, MOS split audiences almost immediately. I think it's a real phenomenon though. I feel like it happened with the first Hobbit movie too.

The Phanton Menace was actually better Less offensive than MOS which made me wince, but Menace was disappointing given how high the bar was prior to that and how low Phantom was on almost all levels. Was Menace better? Rrr.... I don't know. Was Rise of Skywalker better? Eh.... I think MOS was better- But.... we're not talking the best of the best films here. It's like.... what's better? A rotten apple or a rotten orange found in the dump? ;p

The Phanton Menace was actually better I can’t argue with this. And you know you have problems when your movie is not as good as The Phantom Menace ! Even Rise of Skywalker was better than MoS Tough call. I’d say MOS was the bigger disappointment since by then we knew what to expect from the sequel trilogy.

Star Wars was so much bigger I’d say it was the bigger disappointment. I think MOS is the worse film.
