Never felt Singer was the best with casting based on existing Fictional material. It’s always been mixed with him. Singer didn’t even originally want Frank Langella. It was supposed to be Hugh Laurie as Perry wasn’t it? Singer seemed more concerned with certain stylistic elements than he was of casting based on the previous reeve films or the comics.
Bosworth wasn’t god awful but she was seriously miscast.

I like Bosworth WAYYYY better than the actors chosen for Superman and Lois now for the series.... but, yeah, even with saying that, I agree- still miscast.

Definitely preferred Tulloch to Bosworth who looked and acted like she was all of 15 years old. I like Hoechlin a lot but Rouths my favorite Superman of the last few years. The scene with Routh and Tulloch with the Williams love theme made me think they couldn’t help but do it because Routh kind of looks like Reeve and Tulloch kind of looks like Kidder.

I wish I was crazier about Hoechlin & Tulloch, especially if they're getting the tv show--- But EASILY for me Tulloch is worst cast Lois of tv & film to me- Hoechlin edges out John Newton (if also counting Superboys) as Kal-el.... but Newton for me is the wost cast for Supermen- I prefer Dean Cain brought something interesting, and it's hard to separate thinking of him without thinking of Teri Hatcher, who ranks high on my 'Lois' list. Without counting George Reeves and Kirk Alyn- My preferences from top to bottom: Christopher Reeve Brandon Routh Gerard Christopher Dean Cain Hoechlin John Netwon Haynes (Not counting Noel Neil) Margot Kidder Erica Durance Teri Hatcher Kate Bosworth Tulloch In any case, so cool to see three versions of Superman in one series with parallel universes. Never thought that would happen --- and done so well! Happy about how it turned out- how funny it comes the same year as "Endgame"... and actually matches up pretty good in its own way on a tv budget! That's amazing!

Interesting listing. I’d probably count them
Christopher Reeve George Reeves Brandon Routh Tyler Hoechlin Dean Cain Gerard Christopher Tom Welling Kirk Alyn John Haymes Newton Henry Cavill
For Lois
Margot Kidder Phyllis Coates Teri Hatcher Noel Neill Elizabeth Tulloch Erica Durance Amy Adams Kate Bosworth
There are other people like John Rockwell and David Wilson and other young or teen Clarks like Jeff East but I’m leaving them off for various reasons.
It’s funny you mention Endgame since today I was thinking about how the Superman vs Superman fight in Crisis reminded me of the Captain America vs Captain America fight in Endgame. Different circumstances with with time travel vs universe travel and older vs younger vs alternate versions and misunderstanding vs mind control but the CW producers and writers must have had it on their minds. In both cases you’ve got this paragon of heroism and justice fighting a version of himself.

Thanks for sharing your list- I actually might have listed Jeff East in mine (was hoping he would have headlined the superboy tv show )- but ii also forgot to list Cavill! 🤪 (fir the record i thought he wasn’t bad but the scripts were). I’m disappointed with maybe half of the material in the Berlianti shows as ‘filler’ - but this Crisis has me so thrilled so far just feom a coordination point of view i almost want to forgive him everything and give him a giant thimbs up. Wish my enthusiasm was shared by fandom in general if only to reward work i feel is superlative

I think the fact that you left Cavill off says more about him than you, CAM. Don’t worry about it. He’s certainly made me re-evaluate all his predecessors.

Christopher Reeve on the Carol Burnett show. Suprised that the Carol Burnett show lasted that long - I kept on thinking it was a really old show that ended before STM.... interesting!

I’m pretty sure there were few different incarnations of it over the years. Some under different names.
