I mailed out a bunch of copies today. I was only able to get to the US and Australia requests. If you requested a copy and you're from US or Australia and did not receive a PM about it, then I didn't mail one out for you.
I'll get to the UK requests very soon.

Just watched it , well done Jimbo!..really liked how you used parts of the comic book to show missing scenes and the use of still frames to add missing dialogue!.. Good, I'm glad those still images meshed well with the movie. Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked it. I have 2 more blocks to d/load I'm d/loading from work (came in today). Hopefully I can get it all done and burned before I leave at 4. If not then I'm back in office tomorrow so deffo then. Lookin' forward to this Were you able to burn a copy?

Just got it today.
Wow, color me impressed. The restored footage actually helped the movie. Before, it had some fun bits but mostly was a boring embarassment. Of course, it still is, but it's considerably more consistent in being entertaining!
The last act, starting at about the newspaper moment, actually has something vaguely resembling tension as opposed to the "heh, cardboard effects...zzzzzz...." of the theatrical cut.
Mistakes? Yeah, a few... the music was mixed a little loud over the dialogue, although this appears to have been a necessary evil (except for the UN scene towards the end, that was a bit much... but I digest)
Hm, what else... should mention, it does highlight nearly every other flaw in the movie (and holy crap, there are some I never noticed... wtf's with those clothes, is Ducky gay? jkjk). I suppose something similar would happen with Batman Forever (oh, if only, if only.....) but it wouldn't be half as bad as what happens here. Least now, I can watch it all the way through without switching to TV halfway through and forgetting I had it on.
8.5/10 ;D

Downloaded this the other day, gotta say I'm very impressed! Being able to watch it with the missing footage and the proper music cue's helps the film so much! I had never heard the full music score before and it was quite impressive, it actually helps the film. If only Warner would go back and give us the full version with updated effects I have no doubt it would actually be a good (if silly) superman film!
Thanks jimbotron235, you've done a very professional job here! ;D

If only Warner would go back and give us the full version with updated effects I have no doubt it would actually be a good (if silly) superman film! agreed... if the fx were fixed, it would definitley be a decent superhero flick... and with the right marketing, it would FLY off the kids' dvd shelves... plus, fx aside, it's the only superman movie that doesn't seem dated in the looks department... the picture/filter is very fresh looking... it still has a kinda modern feel to it. and with the right fx treatment, it could look like it was made yesterday. i'm tellin ya, this movie's still got potential and jimbo's cut has proved this (even though i haven't seen it yet )

FINALLY!! ;D The fan edit I have been waiting for! ;D Thank you very much for uploading the most complete version of Superman IV, Jimbo! I wish it was available on Fanedit.org, but I know the website is taken down. Fanedit.org was definitely one of my favorite download websites. I always used CryptLoad to download movies from Fanedit.org and right know I am using the same program to download this, without a doubt, wonderful fan edit. I know I will love it! So it's an image file, right? That's cool. I hope the file will be complete tomorrow. Thank you very much again, Jimbo! ;D

OK- i watched it last night and i just cant get over how much i enjoyed it. it was a real...bizzare and ( morbidly ) fascinating experience , part of the time i am imagining jimbo on the computer , obsessing over musis cues , scanning still shots, all while LOATHING the movie.. this was a very layered fanboy experience. 1) - what i was most interested in was jimbo's use of stills and comic panles to convey footage still missing . it raises the question as to how so much of the missing footage was found yet at least a couple of scenes ( the cemetary / the club ) are gone . how could they have found so much additional footage - without finding those...? it amazes me that films that cost millions to make, being handled by so many people , with a FEW people in charge and having access to ALL of it - HOW do films get lost ? heck- the casablanca dvd had deleted scenes!! at any rate - good job with the facsimlie scenes. 2) restoring the deleted scenes. man, some of thos are rough! its all wierd and saturated with red and the speed is wrong sometimes..... its trippy. but you know- the funky quality of the scenes, along with the still kind of ADDED to the wierdness of the experience. it was just another layer of surrealness. ( i wonder if i could persuade jim to construct a kitchen-sink cut of blade runner for me- with the still of tyrell being revealed as a replicant...? ..... ) 3) the music. i dont have a good ear- so this may not mena anything, but i loved alexander courages score- and it sounded great to me. 4) the complete picture . i think had the whole thing been released it STILL would be the franchise killer we all know and loathe - but it does at least MAKE SENSE with the surrounding material. who knows.... it is highly unlikely , but if it took the RIC/green cut to get a restoration of lost SII footage then maybe " the quest for coherance " might get WB to consider going back and getting ALL of the footage we know exists and was missing from " ultimate collection " . recap : good job jim- NO ONE else had attempted it ( aside from ADM - but he had no intention of making S:IV any longer and only mined it to pad his eviscerated S:III ) - and many thought it would never be needed, but you did. i honeslty think i could be persuaded to watch this again. completely surreal . ( thanks again to mav for sending it along )

For starters, I can't call this a fan cut. I hate this movie. With a passion. So yeah, there was a lot of loathing. After a while though, I got desensitized to the critical flaws and poor production values. I just did it because no one else has done it before, and I was curious if reinserting the deleted scenes and adding in the score would make it a better movie. I think all in all, it DID make it a better movie. It's still no Superman III though. If the shooting script and comic book is to be taken as what was shot, then there's still a lot of little things that didn't make it into the movie or deleted scenes. I don't know if they were shot or not, but extra stuff includes: - Lacy and her dad after the Metro Club scene picking Jeremy up from the airport. Judging by the scene of Mr. Warfield greeting Jeremy at the hotel, and the line of "car had a flat" (which I think is a poorly done dub), it may just be a creation for the comic book. - After Superman begins removing nukes, there are scenes of both US and Soviet guys asking themselves if this is just a ruse. No, there's no difference in speed. Otherwise, the timing of the musical cues wouldn't have worked. What you see is what was intended. Funny, I actually like the color of the deleted scenes. I'll take dark teal Superman over faded blue anyday. ;D ADigitalMan made an extended Blade Runner cut. It's pretty good. Have you listened to the isolated score track yet? True that. It'd still be a piece of crap, but continuity errors like "Where is the woman?" wouldn't be an issue. Thanks! Oh, others have tried. Some people on YouTube have done it, but I haven't seen anything available on DVD. One guy also did a very similar thing with his Metro Club scene. One thing he did do that I didn't and wished I had was change up the music, depending on what was happening. I just used a single track throughout. He had the scene go on long enough that he was able to use different songs. Switching to the slow dance song was a good idea. If you want to watch it again with less pain, just do the isolated score track.

you rock.
actually , you'll love this- but my wife comes in towrds the end ( she has a superman shirt - an on the left boob is a "heart " shape with routh revelaing the SR "S" on his chest and on the right boob is the caption " i love nerds" . i crack up when she wears that! ) and she was horrified that i was willfully watching superman four , and i explained what it was and she has this coldy clinical stare at the tv screen - and since its obvious where the deleted scenes are - she almost always said " oh that was painful- cut that ...oh that kid is annoying -cut that .... oh...thats why superman did that.... "

There's also the scene which there is a still of, in which Nuclear Man burns Lex's money, although this isn't a criticism of your extended cut, which I thought was great, when Lex shouts to Nuclear Man "I'm starting to lose my patience with you," that line without the cash burning scene doesn't make total sense, it's obvious he did something else to anger Lex before kidnapping Lacey.

Ah, ok. I didn't know what to do with that "I'm starting to lose my patience in you" quip. I kept it where it was, only later on just before NM comes out of the tanning bed.
I bet the burning money scene was shot because when Lex tries to escape after NM becomes a missile, you see Lex packing away money from a pinball machine and some other small bills. The huge stack of bills is nowhere to be seen.
Another glaring omission is when NM looks at the picture of Lacy in the newspaper. His vision is supposed to burn the newspaper, but that doesn't happen. What compounds this is that in NM's closeup, you can clearly see the smoke from the burning paper.

That picture from above is from Alex's Superman IV site, so yeah it must have been shot. I noticed the smoke in that scene with the newspaper too.

are you sure he burns the paper? are you sure it's not just the smoke from the lex's money? because, if memory serves, in the comic, the money burning scene is directly before the newspaper bit...

According to the script, he burns the newspaper.
