And this is for you, my friend Jimbo! I've made alternate begin credits for your excellent extended version of Superman IV! Of course this is also for everybody else. I think you've done an excellent job and this is to honor your version. Enjoy!

Very nice. Way better than the Donner Cut credits too, and that probably just took you a few minutes.

I have to confess I am trying to make my own, but those were made with project files that someone else produced. It is pixelated when viewed bigger (so it's about the same as the Donner cut credits ), but with a decent moving background and sfx it shouldn't matter so much.

My disc arrived on Friday Jim but it was cracked! F-ing Postal Service! I did not notice it at first. It broke in a straight line from the center hole to the outer edge. But still in one piece. But of course it will not play now. Would you mind sending me a new copy?

For some reason, I keep getting the message that part 12 is temporarily unavailable. I got this message the first time I downloaded that file. Getting it again. If someone has it, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

well, chaps... i watched it. as jimbo will agree, i'm probably the one who wanted this cut more than anybody. i firmly believed that re-inserting the missing scenes would make for a more enjoyable experience... and boy, was i ever wrong! don't get me wrong now... technically speaking, jimbo has done a bang up job on this... seamless editing and the time and work he put into this is greatly recognised and appreciated. through no fault of his own, though, the finished product has been more than a little anti-climatic for me. after watching this, i can now safely say that a good few of the scenes that were cut were done so with very, very good reason. it was very wise of the film-makers to leave them on the cutting room floor where they belonged... specifically: the entire NM1 plot... crap. especially that battle... horribly put togeather... the fx, the dialogue, the acting, the choreography... everything... it's just crap. i can't be any more specific, i'm afraid. superman visiting jeremy... ABYSMAL acting from that kid, the teacher, the other kids and reeve himself isn't even up to scratch. extended flying sequence... TERRIBLE! the whole concept of lois "going solo" is ridiculous. and the fx... don't even get me started there. in fact, as a side note, i find this entire scene to be completely unneccesary and it should have been removed entirely. superman flies jeremy around the world... again, dire acting from jeremy and reeve and it's pathetic enough having one human breathing in space in this movie, so obviously, this doesn't make things any better. ...these scenes take from the movie's "quality" and really slow things down. the decision to remove them really holds water. i think the movie flows alot better in the theatrical cut... the way we go straight to NM2 just works so much better... in fact, i really think the movie actually works quite well as it is, editing-wise, until one point... "where is the woman?" this brings me to the scenes they SHOULD have kept in... the whole lacy kidnapping and NM-turns-into-a-missile plot is CRUCIAL for the last act of this film to work... it's also a pretty decent sequence. why they removed this one is beyond me. great little sequence. lex getting arrested and stuff... great acting from gene... should have been kept in too. clark saying goodbye to lacy... nice scene... ties things up nicely. so, as a whole, with ALL the scenes put back in, the movie still doesn't work. it's too long... the first half is way too slow and crammed with too much crap. i'd love to make another edit that just includes the good stuff that was cut.... anyway, thanks again for making this jimbo. it was a definitely a very interesting experience much appreciation.

I have yet to download- (Only because of computer issues)- but before the music was available, I did a rough cut (sans music) for myself just to see the flow---so, I can sort of imagine the gist of what the complete version would feel like with the deleted stuff inserted---- and personally, the thing to enjoy is seeing the cast one last time as the characters and what could have been.... though I agree a lot of times the production values (and the rushed performances) take away a lot from the experience as is. I remember seeing this in the theatres, and from the first bit of the two-dimensional cardboard-looking Superman flying at you in the first scene, I already knew what I was in for, but I had already liked enough of the script (I bought it months prior at a convention--- and, just like Mike Matessino talks about how he can listen to the music and envision a greater movie, I read the script and thought it pretty good overall- leaps and bounds over Supes III--- but also was able to envision perfect performances and effects PRIOR to actually seeing it) that one either had to go with the Walmart-level production values or hate every second of it. (*though I know it doesn't change how some of the performances came out nor the tone chosen in some of the sequences) It doesn't help that the picture quality of the deleted is SO dark and muddy (beyond the irritating scratch marks). At least the story makes more sense with the deleted stuff back in, versus being totally incomprehensible after a certain point in the theatrical. I didn't have too much trouble with Jeremy/Superman in space--- I figure that it's the same reasoning that Lois didn't freeze to death in STM (Or SR).... that Superman's body generates a small field around him that protects those who he's carrying. In the comics, Superman used to wrap inhabitants in his invulnerable cape to protect them from the cold--- but not very visually interesting (and questionable how plausible either solution is) for film, if Lois (or another other passenger) were wrapped up like a mummy every time Superman carried her above the clouds.

I hope you realise now Jim why I hardly looked as this thread while the DVD was in it's making... it's so annoying to read negative thoughts about my favorite movie... I take the breathing in space scenes as fantasy and enjoy them! I don't question the logic behind it, who knows? maybe Superman's powers get transferred as he is holding them - it doesn't matter! Just enjoy the movie for what it is!
I still havn't received my copy yet though just to let you know.
