.... then I still want it to eventually lead to SII tv cut extended blu ray! On the more serious side... DC actually being sold to Marvel would mean less superhero films all around, I would think. On the flip side, I'd rather be less than too much mediocre material at this point...

The government would never allow it because you’d effectively have a monopoly of an entire industry. The same is true of Disney ever buying Warner Bros. You’d have far too large a company. Plus DISCOVERY would be stupid to break up DC to sell the publishing side and try to keep certain characters or even sell it whole. It would probably be a legal/contractual nightmare if it were even possible.

I was already shocked that Disney was allowed to buy Star Wars, Pixar, AND Marvel--- so, that's why I wouldn't be overly suprised at this point if they were allowed to buy DC ip... I already thought Disney was going to be stopped quite awhile ago..

That’s another matter. Pixar Lucasfilm and Marvel being added as companies to Disney wouldn’t create any kind of monopoly. There isn’t a question of market share or direct competition with smaller weaker companies. There’d be no reason for the DOJ or FCC to get in the way. If Disney already owned large parts of the market those companies are tied to that would be different.
Part of the reason the Disney Fox deal and the AT&T Warner deal were so complicated was because in both cases you had two companies with some business overlap. NewsCorp (Fox’s parent company) owns a broadcast network. So does Disney. That’s why they never would have been allowed to make the Fox broadcast network part of that deal of that had also been on the table. It’s also why certain things had to be sold off before the Disney Fox deal was allowed to go through.
