The entire series has been remastered and is now available on HBO Max. As I skimmed through the series, I did notice that the special effects shots appear to have been up converted while non-special effects scenes have been sourced from the original film elements. Still a fantastic way to rewatch the series!

Interesting.... pity the stories might not have aged well. It did a lot of interesting things that I thought couldn't be done with the material, though it definitely jumped off the tracks BADLY with the 'clone' and fake wedding episode & never recovered properly.
Would be neat if they also upgraded to letterbox as well as upgrade Babylon 5....

I definitely prefer the show in its early incarnation when they emulated the John Byrne comics. I’m glad they persevered the original aspect ratio. There was a lot of controversy when they cropped the Wonder Woman TV show in 16X9 for the DC app because fans were upset that parts of Lynda Carter’s body were getting cut off. I would have similar complaints as well for this show. I hope the 1990 Flash television series is coming soon under similar circumstances.

I totally hear you- the first season is the best imo, when they tried to stick closer to the comics. In a commentary I think Dean Cain said it was shot in wide- so that would have been cool to see. |

Hopefully this looks better than Babylon 5 and Buffy’s HD releases. Buffy was a viewing horror story. B5 looked better than the earlier dvd releases but it really needs a full overhaul for the fx sequences. One thing L&C had in its favor is compared to B5 it wasn’t as effects heavy in the first place.
