I wouldn’t hold my breathe on this being true because it feels like the usual internet rumors and speculation being rehashed yet again but parts of the Snyderverse seems to always survive a good flushing. I’m so sick of his crap. I just want a clean break.
If they’re going to bring Superman back to the big screen give us a complete clean slate with new filmmakers, new actors, and a new continuity. Otherwise I might just have to completely avoid any film Cavill appears in as Superman. I’m ready for this version of the character to be totally over.
Will Henry Cavill Announce a New Superman Film at San Diego Comic-Con?
July 20, 2022
The rumor mill is running hot with speculation that Henry Cavill might make a surprise appearance in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to announce a new Superman movie.
Deadline.com dropped the hint in an article reporting on Warner Bros. presentations at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, with “Black Adam” and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” the two films the studio will be showcasing.
Last we heard, Ta-Nehisi Coates was writing a script for a J.J. Abrams produced Superman movie that was supposed to be all about a black Kal-El/Clark Kent, while Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters were writing a script for Michael B. Jordan’s “Val Zod” project for HBO Max. Whether both of these Superman-related projects are now on the scrap heap in favor of a return by Henry Cavill remains to be seen.
The Superman Homepage does have a reporter attending San Diego Comic-Con, so stay tuned for any updates on this front.

Marvel & DC’s Comic-Con Reveals Teased
By Garth Franklin

A new feature piece over at Deadline has gone into some of the reveals we could expect to see at San Diego Comic-Con this week which returns in-person for the first time since 2019.
According to the site, the Marvel panel in Hall H should offer sneak peeks of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and the upcoming “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” series. However they don’t expect this to be comparable to the 2019 panel which effectively announced the company’s Phase 4 plans.
Their sources suggest Marvel is saving new project announcements for Disney’s fan convention D23 during the second weekend of September. What’s not clear is what that means for stuff already in the works or announced including “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “Blade,” “The Marvels” and “Fantastic Four”.
On the DC side, the Warner Bros. panel will reportedly put the focus on “Black Adam” and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” with good looks at both, but there’s “buzz that Henry Cavill will put in a surprise appearance to talk up more Superman”. Collider has since posted that Cavill has “The Witcher” S3 filming commitments in the UK on Friday, putting his convention appearance in doubt.
Keanu Reeves is making an appearance to talk the “BRZRKR” movie while his “John Wick: Chapter 4” director Chad Stahelski is also at the convention leading to suggestions of a surprise tease of that film. Paramount will also have early looks at “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” and the “Teen Wolf” movie.
