So I rewatched MoS last night for the first time in about 2 years(I think?!) Film is so bad I can never remember each of the previous occasions I watched it-lol! Anyways my favourite part of the movie ,after watching it last night: Arron Smolinsky's cameo as a soldier!

Even on first viewing- but a lot of really bad parts- much like Watchmen. Pretty to look at, at times, though-- And... It just makes one realize how much better Superman Returns really was, imo.

MoS also makes one realise that having CGI villains is not a good idea

All the problems are still there. It’s still Snyder’s best DC film but that’s faint praise. It’s ties to BvS and JL make it look even worse by association.

It's amazing how NOBODY at WB with any power saw why these types of moments would be a problem for the movie or the character to stop this from happening (hecko producer Chris Nolan). I still maintain there was good stuff in MOS that could have shone brighter if you subtracted the bad stuff.

It's also amazing how (almost) nobody on this forum saw why crap like this was a problem for a Superman movie. And the few of us who could think for ourselves were accused of being Reeve Only People and relentlessly insulted.

Most of the guys at the top were a bunch of suits with no artistic or storytelling instincts. They simply wanted to recreate what Nolan did but didn’t realize they’d hired the wrong guy for that. Nolan saw some issues but he was busy with his own film.

They got dazzled with spectacle and were ready to buy in because they wanted the movie to be a hit. Someone who was a popular regular on this forum once said we should support MOS even if it was crap so we could get more Superman movies and they would he hits. I said that was ridiculous and I got ridiculed for it. Ten years later we see the shape DC is in on the big screen and I feel vindicated. A lot of people here defended MOS for the same things they ripped SR apart for. That hasn’t aged to well. Some of them made their mind up on MOS being great before it came out and would defend it no matter what.
