It was Superboy. Superboy said "Don't Mess with the S!" in the "Superman: The Man of Steel" Action figure commercial. Looking back those figures in that line were lame compared to the Total Justice line. Now THOSE kicked ass.

Ahhh... I guess since Superboy said it it wouldn't be appropriate for it to be a SuperMAN catchphrase then? Dang!

The other day I was cleaning my house and I ran into an old book of short stories and poems by Edgar Allan Poe. I hadn't read that book in YEARS! My old high school girlfriend found that book at a garage sales and bought it for me. I ended up reading The Tell-Tale Heart to for shits and giggles. I forgot how dark Poe was.

The guy definitely had a funny side, too. I'm generally not too much into the biopics, but Poe is one I keep waiting for. Heard about a year ago that Stallone had written a screenplay and that he would direct and was interested in Viggo as Poe. That would be great, but Viggo's like 50 and Poe died when he was 40. Guess it really doesn't matter. Damn its cold here. Its like 7 degrees outside right now and I don't want to leave the house.

He was funny! Opium can do some weird things to your brain.
There was a Venture Brothers episode that featured Poe. That was pretty funny. A Poe biopic would be great. Johnny Depp as Poe!

Depp would be perfect. I hope Sly does get around to this, though. Would be a very different and interesting project for him. IMO he's a great filmmaker as well as actor.

I'm sure Sly could pull it off. It's about time we see something different from him. Sly as director and Depp as Poe! JACKPOT!

Adam15, you're clearly wasted here.
Go write for Jay Leno or something.

Heck yea I'm an awesome writer! I think maybe I should write a script for the new Superman movie and send it to the WB! I'll call it
Never Mess With the S: The Man of Steel kicks some serious alien villain butt!
or how about
The Man Who Made the Mistake of Messing With the S.... AND HAD HIS BOO-TAY KICKED TO HIGH HEAVEN BY SUPERMAN!
or maybe
Superman's pants... exploring the dark regions of the nether-realm!

I'm sure Sly could pull it off. It's about time we see something different from him. Sly as director and Depp as Poe! JACKPOT! Definitely. I'm much more into the biopics about people that lived before the film age. Its hard for me to buy the illusion if I've seen the person animated and immortalized on film already. As good as Ray and Walk The Line were, I still didn't completely buy the actors simply because I've been exposed to video of Cash and Charles my whole life and can't see anyone portraying them other than them. I prefer Amadeus and Immortal Beloved where you get an idea of what Mozart or Beethoven might have been like but could never know for sure. I like the mystery of seeing films about people long gone. So yeah, definitely excited about the prospect of a Poe movie and hope like heck Spielberg gets his shit together with that Lincoln movie.

I concur.
There have been rumors of a Freddie Mercury biopic for awhile now. Bobby De Niro's production company will be producing it. That should be pretty good.

He's too tall. Merc was only 5'9". I was thinking Eric McCormack or even Johnny Depp.

Aside from the giganto-chin, Robert Z'Dar has a slight resemblance.

He should say "Make my day" or " I'll be back". Never mind those are already taken.
