I LOVE this documentary!
Every time I watch this, it pumps me up and does a lot to back my belief that Singer is the man for the job. What a tremendous job they did on this. It's easy to tell just how much Bryan does care for the character and property. Jon Peters is still a complete moron but everything else here is great.
If Geoff Johns could write the MOS script, Routh could star and Singer could direct, I'd be more than happy.
Anyone else agree with me?

Yup, good documentary. I really like it when they explore every little detail and that it's a fly-on-the-wall style documentary.

One of the best things about SR is this documentary!

For me, it is second only to the LOTR Extended Trilogy documentaries.
How ANYONE could not fall in love with Routh after watching him in this INCREDIBLE documentary, is beyond me.

A very thorough, well made doc! I wanna watch it and the You Will Believe one again, haven't watched them since they were originally released way back when.
Johns or McQuarry would be AWESOME. Maybe even both!

Agreed. Right up there with "The Beginning" on the Episode I DVD.

It's a little worrying when the documentary is better than the movie.

I dont think the documentary is better than the awesome movie itself, but, it certainly helps round out the experience & makes me love the movie even more.

I have the Superman boxset but I have yet to watch this. It made me mad that all the special features in this 100 buck plus boxset that none of it is subtitled or captioned! I hate this!
with being hard of hearing I think all that stuff should be captioned or subtitled. It makes me so mad when i want to watch this stuff but I can't.
Same goes for Stand-Up DVD's, like Jeff Dunham. I love his stuff and his shows, but other than the Comedy Central showing, none of his stuff (or others comedians stuff) are captioned.

It is Stargazer.
One of the reasons I love the BTTF Trilogy set, watching all the behind the scenes stuff with subtitles were so awesome, same for the Indiana Jones set.
I don't know why they do that.. I can't see subtitles taking up that much space on a DVD.

Oh thats nice.. might have to look into that.
But whats up with that? They can do subtitles for Region 4 is it? But they can't do it for Region 1?

I also really liked that documentary, except for one thing: it barely touches post-production. But if a few rumours that I read about that stage are true, the decision behind it is really not that surprising.

The way that was phrased, was an open target...
That aside, the documentary was really great- covered just about every aspect of production for the most part--- although a documentary on how WB managed to spiral the Superman movies AFTER SR into conference limbo for the last few years, would be of more interest to me at this point. Maybe if a light was shone on how this happens at a studio that OWNS so many properties, WB would feel more pressure to get their act together.
If Marvel Studios (that didn't even stay in existence that long before selling at a great price) could have their act together, why can't WB, which has been around for decades? Bleaugh.

I found the doco quite boring too be honest. Its nowhere near as good as The Phantom Menace one; it just went on forever.
