Allison Mack.  But for the purposes of this poll, Teri Hatcher. I never saw Allison as a Lois type. She is just too sweet, plus she is a blonde, lol. I see her more as a perfect Lana. Jimbo: thanks! The only thing that really connects her to Lois is being a reporter who's in love with Clark. Personality wise, Erica Durance is much more close to her character. Lois is supposed to be hard headed, pushy, bitchy, and a bit mean at times. About the poll, though. I really think you should have included Joan Alexander. She's the first actress to play Lois, in the radio show and the Fleischer animated shorts. |

Bosworth played Lois as less self absorbed than all the others except Neil so I can easily see how she might get a few votes. Lois on the surface is a pretty unlikeable character like the movie version of Mary Jane Watson. Personally I find Lois the character very likeable in STM and Donner's SII. In the other sequels I find her a tad annoying. |

Margot Kidder. She is usually the image we associatre most with the character name, Lois Lane. Brings a smile to my face and a tear to my eye everytime I think of that first shot of her in STM, when we hear Jimmy say "Smile!" and She flashes a great smile of pearly whites! God what a great shot.
Plus, she showed how Lois could be serious and straightforward, and mischievious at the same time. My personal bias anyway.

i went with hatcher, then it would be kidder.
hatcher was definitely the hottest, though the bird from smallville is a bit of a hotty too.

I chose Margot, just out of fondness for the original 4 films.
Hatcher is a close second, but I don't think her Lois was quite realised as a full person. She didn't have many opportunities to work her dramatic chops. Margot had a better opportunity in STM, SII (and slightly in SIV) to make Lois more of a 3D character.
Bosworth's Lois was never really fun enough.
And I'm not familiar with the others.

I almost chose Hatcher over Kidder, but who was I 'Kidding'. Movies are bigger than Television anyway- so Margot Kidder it is. KidderisLois.....

I voted for Teri Hatcher although Dana Delany's animated version is a close 2nd. I'll always retain a sentimental fondness for Margot Kidder's likeable Lois but Teri and Dana(at least the way she's drawn) are more attractive to me. Kate Bosworth's bland Lois is my current least favorite.

I've never been a big Lois fan myself.
Acting wise, I guess Kidder was the best. But Hatcher was the hottest.

You forgot the 1966 Broadway musical Lois Lane (Patricia Marand), and the 1975 TV version of the same musical which featured Lesley Ann Warren as Lois (who ironically auditioned for Lois - see the auditions on the STM DVD).

I understand those versions sucked, though I haven't seen Patricia Marand's version, but I saw Warren's Lois in the TV version and unfortunately was a sad parody. But if I remember well, Warren also auditioned for the role of Lois for STM, and I really didn't like her at all; she overacted during it and just sounded too fake... and kinda horny for Supes?  |

Kidder is classic. You have to go with her.
In reent times I think Durance is really great in the role. She really has the feistiness and the witt that you see from Lois in the comics.
Hatcher seemed a bit to damsel in distressy.
Bosworth was terrible. Didn't look like Lois or act like Lois at all.
Neil was just decent in moy opinion.
