So, I was finally able to see STM on Blu-ray. Sure, it's the 2001 Thau Cut, but man is it beautiful! Everything from beginning to end is marvelous. Unfortunately the wires are more visible. I don't know if this is Thau's doing or if it's just the 1080p definition. Either way, it's a must have for all Superman fans. BUT IT NOW! Haha, "but it now". Someone has been caught copy/pasting posts across threads. Tsk tsk. OWNED.

Did you know the T key is right next to the Y key on a keyboard?
Well, you do now.

Is that the 2006 theatrical cut? The 2006 copy of the 2000 expanded movie has the wrong transfer. You can see in some scenes the turquoise suit when he's flying that wasn't recoloured. I think they put the transfers the wrong way round, as well as fucking up the 1978 audio.

I still keep around the 2001 DVD because of the alleged coloring flubs.
Also, they fixed the explosion of Krypton so that the black curtain doesn't appear on the DVD. Unfortunately, the Blu-ray has that curtain clear as day. It really messes up the explosion since it's so damn obvious.
What's wrong with the 1978 audio? (aside from the original discs not having it)

Precisely that, it doesn't have it. ;D
I'm actually going to use the 2006 expanded version which has the old colours and the turquoise suit in some scenes, and insert the 1978 audio from ADM's feed the babies cut. Trouble is, I bet that is going to be a real bitch to edit in!

He has 3 choices of audio, the 2000 5.1 expanded audio, the original 1978 audio, and the 5.1 music only audio. I've just been trying to fit the 1978 audio with the 2006 dvd in my own edit but I realised one is PAL and one is NTSC and they don't quite match up.

Well, as someone who didn't grow up these films (before the 2006 DVD Editions, I had only seen the first film and Superman Returns in their entirety), I don't notice all the color/audio glitches that you are complaining about.

last night ,
SUPERMAN III ( theatrical cut )
just for the heck of it. normally mrs jor gives me flack for it and trades it out for SR , but it was late and what the heck?
i honestly belive i have grown to love it. it is 2 movies , a sweet thoughtful epic AND a disastorous attempt a b-movie 80's humor.
i WILL hire a faneditor.

Last Night
Superman: The Movie (2000 Expanded Edition)
Just a change of pace from watching the theatrical cut. I really like the scene with father and son after his first night as Superman.

Just now
Superman II (Richard Donner Cut)
Learning all the behind the scenes shenanigans has made watching any version of the second film difficult, as Donner and Lester are two very different directors. I went with Donner tonight because I really enjoy the Brando footage.

I went with Donner tonight because I really enjoy the Brando footage. thanks for reminding me ! a few days ago i watched the RDC myself. i was going to post a self-deprectaing review because i was SERIOUSLY hammered at the time. it was after watching 2 hours of 24 and then i put this in and was just absolutely in love- buuuuuuttt i was also pulling back budwiesers like i fell in the brewing vat and nodded off before the time-warp - so thats probably the reason i was so happy with it!! ;D seriously though- my only serious greivance is the timewarp. i leave the technical criticism to the pros.

Well, the recycled score that everyone complains about is more obvious the more times I watch it, though I think it works for the repowering scene. Having said that, I don't think it matters how many ways you recut the footage, Superman II is always going to feel like the work of two very different directors mashed together.

Right now,
Superman II (Theatrical Cut)
I often wonder if it was Lester who put together the final cut, or if it was the Salkinds.

Hi All; So far I haven’t watched a Superman film since this thread has started, I took 3 days off work, feeling a bit down with the flu… So finally I got the chance to watch… ‘ SUPERMAN IV – THE QUEST FOR COHERENCE’A fancut made by our very own jimbotron235 – and boy am I pleased!!! Thanks very much Jim, adding in those subtitles really helped, some constructive criticism though, the comic book scenes of the Metro Club should have been single pics, only because I prefer this blokes, as I tried to focus at once on 2 or 3 pics while trying to read the script, then it changes a bit quick. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWF64hja_VY&feature=PlayList&p=AB5F6CCD5752653D&index=5You did a great job Jim on the ‘Flying Solo’ love scene, you did a grand job! And I love how you combined all the Clark sick scenes together! It exceeded my expectations! Having the isolated score made the movie even better, that is the true version of the movie! Thanks to all who helped make this dream come true! An impressive 10 out of 10!!!
