It's much easier giving a scene or two a pass in order to enjoy the whole rather than trying to give the whole thing a pass in order to enjoy it. (Indy 4)

I like the "stalking scene" a lot, no, love it. I wouldn't mind to be stalked by a Superman that looked like that.. It'd be like a dream come true. ;D lol But seriously, and like I've said before on another thread, I think the spying scene is very interesting and dramatic; with this action, you can see (at least I and other people that I know) on Superman's eyes so much longing for Lois, as well as regret. It's a very adult scene, and that's one of the reasons why I enjoy it so. But the best part is "his punishment", as I call it, when he hears that Lois "never" loved him, and as he ascends to the heavens he is reminded by his father Jor-El that he is supposed to be above that type of petty behaviour, that he should be A light to show the way. Aww, fantastic stuff. At least for me it is.

1. Helicopter rescue 2. Superman returns to normal and rips his shirt open and flies off 3. Superman confronts the villians at the daily planet - amazing zoptic shot of him landing on the flag 4. Superman tells his mother that he loves lois. - great music and top acting 5. U.N speech.

Coming up with my most favorite scenes from the Superman movies has been really hard for me since I enjoy the films so much (excluding S3 and S4, lol). 5. "Would you care to step outside?" Followed by "Kneeeeel before Zod!" (Superman 2) COOL stuff! 4. Rooftop interview, followed by their flight together- "Peter Pan flew with children, Lois. In a fairytale". (STM) / Rooftop interview and flight together- "You wrote that the world doesn't need a saviour, but every day I heard them crying for one". (SR) I just love both scenes so much for different reasons. 3. Plane rescue, especially as Superman emerges from the plane to a cheering stadium for his return. (SR) All of it is fantastic and epic, and I feel like a little girl on Christmas morning every time. Unforgettable. It will stay with me until the day I die. Plus in this scene Brandon became the Superman for this generation for me. 2. "Good bye, Lois," followed by that GLORIOUS solar recharge all through until Superman saves the world and his uncouncious fall back to Earth (The falling saviour, as I call it). (SR) The emotion, the imagery, the powerful score, the acting, all of it make it a very powerful and deeply moving part of the film for me. I know it's not one scene, but I just love the third act of this film so much. 1. Superman's speech to his sleeping son, all the way until the end of the film as we see Superman on Space watching over us- "Will we see you...around? I'm always around. Good night, Lois". (SR) / Jor-El's Farawell speech to baby Kal-El. (STM) Pure poetry, and a cycle is complete. I love the acting in both scenes, as well as the scores, the emotion, all of it. It's perfect and deeply moving. It's makes me care for this fantastic character. Honorable mentions: -"You've got me? Whose got you?!" (STM)-Superman listening to the cries of the world. (SR)-Beatdown (SR)Yup, I think that's it.

I think another good SR moment is when you see supes' boots land on the glass window on the door of the boat and he begins pulling them out of the sea. I love hearing the superman theme with that scene, it's perfect for that rescue.

I saw SR again last night; it's amazing having a blu-ray player and an HDTV. Jeebuz, the beat down is hard to watch. It was before, but in HD, Jeebuz it's really hard to watch.
Man, I love SR. It hasn't gotten old and it still sends shivers down my spine two and half years later. Same thing with STM. They just never get old.

I love hearing the superman theme with that scene, it's perfect for that rescue. Agreed. It was the perfect representation of Superman as Hope. I loved this in the movie; Bryan did it several times. Superman arriving to save people at the last minute. And doing things that ONLY Superman can do. Another scene I love is the build up to and the catching up of the DP globe. The score was also great there. Really great and iconic one. Superman as Atlas. I also love the scene where Supes is flying towards the Fortress and the way he descends towards it...it's so sweet! Best landing ever. He looks like a angel. Another scene I enjoy deeply is the way Clark looks at Lois going up in the DP elevator. You can see the love in his eyes, and the score is great there. Like I said, there are just too many scenes and small moments in the Supes movies that I love. It's so hard to choose just one. lol. STM and Supes 2 also have lots of great ones, of course. ihavenolegs said, "the beat down is hard to watch. It was before, but in HD, Jeebuz it's really hard to watch.

He was just stalking her. That perv! You may be joking, but did you know that some people (on the Internet) think (or at least that's what they say..) that that scene as well as the one where Superman is giving his speech to his sleeping son, are really creepy?!

I am joking.
I can't express how much I love this film. I really can't. The scene where Superman is giving Jason the same speech his father gave him as an infant is just beautiful. One can't help but get choke up and get a little teary eyed. Then the last scene with Lois and Superman, even though not much is said, their body language and facial expressions say more than words can.

But it's incredible to me how some people have misinterpreted those scenes..as well as when Supes 'spies' Lois at her house, though that one is more controversial, haha.

Some people like to complain. It's in their nature. I whine from time to time. I guess that makes a fanboy.

^^Agreed. A typical fanboy lives for complaining. It is his/her purpose in life, it seems. I found these two posts the other day in another forum and loved them, so I wanted to share it here: "I'm probably the least traditional or obsessed superman fan ever ... so I had no issues with Supes being able to lift the Kryptonian continent. I was probably to distracted by the fact that he can lift a continent, and I cant.
I'm never really obsessed with the minutia of any particular mythology. As long as the overall themes are human and true, I'll be there. Superman Returns did this for me. In a time when family and heroism don't have the same, simplistic definitions, Supes needed to be made relevant. We are dealing with tough issues, and now, so is he. He is still a beacon of hope and higher moral standing.
In my opinion, Superman is one of the most important modern mythological heroes, and Superman Returns portrayed him perfectly, and for the ages. I may not be able to lift a continent or catch a plane (YET) but I can make a choice to always be "around" for those in my life.
Damn, I want to watch this again now!" And this: "This film's score (SR) is easily in my Top 3 movie scores.
Ottman did a really great job and did a fine job using the Williams score at the right moments.
Nothing will top Williams' main march, Can you read my mind/Lois flight, and Krypton stuff. However, I felt the rest of Ottman's score was better than Williams'.
It may sound silly, but when I want to get away from everything, I'll sit outside, look up into the sky, and listen to SR's score. I actually picture what it's like to fly when I listen to this and envison myself in the clouds.
I feel like if I walked into Heaven, Ottman's score would be playing, specifically Power of the Sun and Superman hovering over the Earth."

Superman lifting New Krypton with a piece of Kryptonite still in his back never bothered me. We hear of people doing super-human things all the time. For example people lifting a car to save a loved one. If you had to save a loved one, your body would take on tremendous pressure to ensure their survival. It's what we humans can do. It's documented fact. So, here you have the Man of Steel saving everyone on Earth. He knows what's going to happen if he does nothing. So, he musters up all the energy he can get and lifts New Krypton out of the Earth. There was a price to pay, that's why he fell back to Earth and goes into a coma. It's another great scene in SR that fanboys just love to fanboy about.

Personally, I love the scene, and Brandon sold it with his acting; we could clearly see the pain, struggle and determination on his face. Epic. I also enjoy how Lex watches the super feat from afar, he is in awe at Supes. It is subtle but it's there.

5. Gus Gorman gets drunk with the Smallville Flash and causes chaos as he tries to hack Vulcan.
4. Gus Gorman searches for the magic orange screw that powers the entire supercomputer.
3. Gus Gorman re-enacts the superfeats in Columbia (Columbia!), only to fly through the air with his pink table cloth and skis.
2. Niccotine/Kryptonite-hooked Superman spittin' some game with a smokin' Annette.
1. Gen. Gus Gorman delivers the Niccotine/Kryptonite compound to Superman, wondering what we would think if the President's ball-point pen burst onto his nice, clean pants while signing a peace treaty in front of the leaders of the world.
