I couldn't find info on this one either! But in S3, when evil supes fights Clark Kent in the junkyard, was it in the mind or did he really split in two?

i think it's very much a "make up your own mind" concept. kinda like the plot of 'total recall'...

yeah- it is purposely ambiguous.
i lean towards " in his head " because saying that he split into two people , one of which magially disappears is stretching what little verisimilitude the story has.
the pseudo kryptonite got him disoriented, drunk ( even literally ) and eroded his moral compass - the fight was to find his true nature vs. selfishness .

Yeah, it's a fairly high concept, especially in comparison to the rest of the movie. Of course the "in his head" theory doesn't quite add up as there is physical damage to the junkyard caused by the fight still around after the Evil Superman is defeated. So that that as you will.

The Kyptonite made him sick and bad, then eventually split him into two people. It doesn't have to be real life, it is a comic book fantasy movie.

Since one was able to operate the hydraulic crusher, and another was on the conveyor belt, then there must have been two people.

Since one was able to operate the hydraulic crusher, and another was on the conveyor belt, then there must have been two people. I actually think that Lester just had no freakin idea what he really meant by all that. I think he just liked the concept/sequence and thought it was cool. Nothing more than that, sadly, cuz as you say, it just doesn't make much sense. ;D And nice pics, capedwonder!
