I'd bet that had Reeve not had his accident we would definitely have had a Superman V in the mid late 90's starring Reeve. The whole Superman Lives development heck would never have happened and instead WB would have commissioned Reeve to do Superman V. Man...talk about dreaming of things that never were and asking why not....

In the early 1990s, I recall reading there was a plan for a Superman V under the Salkinds once again. The plot was supposed to be about Superman being shrunk by aliens.

lol if the Seigels had won their suit they and Ilya could have taken the McClory role in this story with Reeve pulling a Connery or later on getting Routh for a Warhead 2000 type deal as the Dalton.
All jokin aside if a Superman V DID happen it would have happened in the early 90s before WB started consolidating their rights. That's what killed a fifth Salkind related movie Reeve or no Reeve. I don't think WB would have wanted Reeve anyway. They were going younger or bigger star. This was the 90s after all where they pushed the sexy superhero. They had their own tv superman in Cain and peters and Burton had their movie Superman in Cage. I don't think they wanted Reeve either. Their production would have to fall apart in this alternate world too in order for a proper Superman V to happen and that's of WB even saw it as viable because they still had the rights. It Hollywood the blame often gets put on the wrong thing.
Now here's the REAL question: what if things had gone exactly as they did except Reeve didn't have his accident. Would Singer have gotten Reeve for Superman Returns? That movie DID happen so it seems a little more possible to me. It's a hard question to answer. I think he would have wanted to but the sad thing is I thing Reeve's accident was the very thing that reignited the public at larges appreciation of him as Superman and helped the characters image in general. changing his fate alters so many things either way.
