1.) The completed blank bullets scene
2.) villains rule the world
3.) Donner's Metro Battle
For me it's 1..... I am fascinated as to how the blank bullets scene would have looked/played out if shot by Donner.

I am fascinated as to how the blank bullets scene would have looked/played out if shot by Donner. If given a choice in order of preference- 1.) Donner's Metro Battle. Donner made even the few added moments in the FOS pretty intense emotionally, with all the finger pointing. Being an actor's director, was curious how he would have had the performances go for what seemed like a pretty lengthy fight in the Mank script. 2.) Villains rule the world- Particularly Zod's speech above the Washington Monument. Seemed an epic choice, visually... and would have erased some of Lester's turning of the criminals into saucy plate of hunky mans. 3.) Completed Blank Bullets scene WITH the companion scene of them entering the hotel as originally written, with Lois pushing a kiss on a timid Clark.

Ooooo...good topic. I'd say villains rule the world. At least the current metropolis battle is decent and you can cut Lesters crap humor out . Donners probably would have been better but there's something. The phantom zoners taking over is sorely lacking. It really could have been epic. Even some of those shots in the Donner cut create some iconic images in my head.

Actors. I'd be terrified to see what Hollywood would do with it now. Thau shalt not have false villains.

I think of how Zod would have been making his epic speech on top of the Washington Monument.... what could have been... sigh. But the blank bullets scene would have been so much better. The best Donner stuff is Reeve and Kidder interacting and I really wanted to see the completed payoff to the DP Jump opener. More Donner Reeve and Kidder material would have really helped the love story too.

Was Donner planning to use CGI villains back in 1980?
Because the state of CGI was very primitive back then. The villains would have looked like vector graphics.

Yeah I know. She went from spirited and alluring under Donner to tired and bitter under Lester.

Agreed. Geoff Unsworth would insist on silence when he was "lighting the lady".
Bobby Painter just thew roadkill on her head and punched her before letting he roar into a scene, hence the bitter rat lady we saw...

Wow, she was really pretty.
What the heck happened to her looks in between STM and S2? Was it drugs?

Wow, she was really pretty. What the heck happened to her looks in between STM and S2? Was it drugs? I think it really was all the smoking (and possibly stress from the fame that came with STM that she said she didn't handle well). I don't think she looks bad in SII, but the wig in the DP is just horrible during the Metro reshoots. Her personality (as written by the Newmans and directed by Lester) is just more selfish and bitchy to Clark versus the Mank script version, which has her a little scattered but bubbly- and sharper than appears under a cover of daffiness. (One example- it's Clark, not Lois, that's the complainer during the Honeymoon Haven scenes).
